I will be applying GW ED1 in the Fall to either the Elliot School of International Affairs or the Columbian College of Arts and Sciences (I haven’t decided which yet). What do you think my chances are? Should I interview? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

  • Volunteer Leader/ small group leader at church (12 hours of service per weekend, 9th-12th)
  • Personnel Manager of school's Peer Advising Corps, helped found club, (11th/12th)
  • NHS and Beta Club member since inducted during Junior year
  • Marching band member (9th-12th), section leader (12th)
  • Concert band member
  • Link Leaders/freshman advisor (12th, founding member)
  • Took the most APs possible (AP Scholar with Honors) and all honors classes:
  • APUSH (10th, 4)
  • Psych (11th, 4)
  • English Lang (11th, 5)
  • Stats (11th, 3)
  • Taking Bio, Calc, English Lit, Honors Latin III, Honors Band this year

I think you have a great chance to GW ED1! I think all applicants should interview, it helps a great deal. I think I might be applying ED too, and we have similar stats, I have a higher ACT and you have a higher GPA, but still I think that we both have a very solid shot at ED. If you love it, go for it!
