<p>I'm a political science major currently wait listed at Georgetown, my first choice. If I don't get in, I've narrowed down where I'd like to go to GWU and UMich. </p>
<p>I have a general idea of what I think is the better fit for me, but I am curious to see what others have to say. I want to go to Law School after UG and I have grants so money is not a factor in the decision. </p>

<p>UM is overall significantly more respected university, it will also provide better overall college experience and better chances for Law School or employment.</p>
<p>GWU has an advantage of being in DC (big plus for your major).</p>

<p>Based on the objective data, U Michigan gets the best of most comparisons (ranks for Graduation/Retention, Faculty Resource, Fin Resources, Alumni). GW is statistically competitive in a few categories (better class size numbers and virtually equal SAT scores). Some might consider GW as a peer institution, but to this observer, the statistical differences would render a different conclusion. Furthermore, among academics, U Michigan is clearly the preferred choice. </p>
<p>The major caveat to this comparison is the OP’s interest in political science. GW obviously has a strong geographic advantage and all of the DC internship possibilities that go along with this.</p>
