SUBJECTIVE DATA

Peer Assessment:
George Washington: 3.6 U Michigan: 4.5

Based on the objective data, U Michigan gets the best of most comparisons (ranks for Graduation/Retention, Faculty Resource, Fin Resources, Alumni). GW is statistically competitive in a few categories (better class size numbers and virtually equal SAT scores). Some might consider GW as a peer institution, but to this observer, the statistical differences would render a different conclusion. Furthermore, among academics, U Michigan is clearly the preferred choice.

The major caveat to this comparison is the OP’s interest in political science. GW obviously has a strong geographic advantage and all of the DC internship possibilities that go along with this.
