George Washington vs. Pitt

Hello! I’m currently deciding between going to either GW or Pitt, and would like some advice! I was accepted as a political science major into both. Here are some pros and cons I have about each:
GW
Pros - diverse, cheaper, better for political science, love D.C., internships
Cons - didn’t love the campus, wary of politics playing such a massive role on campus, probably would be stuck in a gross dorm
Pitt
Pros - liked campus better, school pride, classic college feel
Cons - more expensive, larger than I want, about two hours further away from me

I’d love to hear what you have to say, and whether the choice is clear or not. I think I’m leaning towards GW right now, but I won’t know for sure until I visit again during the Admitted Students Day in a week and a half! Also, even though I’m entering as a polysci major, I may potentially change it to something more business oriented like marketing, or something else in the political realm like international relations. I plan on going to law school too (not sure if either university has an advantage for preparing students for that), and am aiming for very selective law schools. Thanks!

If you really don’t like the feel of GW that much, then don’t go. But if you enjoy the admitted students day and realize you will have a good time in your four years there, then GW probably is better for what you want to do, plus it’s cheaper. At the same time, if you realize you want that classic college feel, Pitt is an awesome school and won’t hurt you for job prospects in general. Still, you can’t beat D.C. for political science, so internships and job opportunities could be a major factor that give you a leg up at GW! Good luck with both of your great options!

i second @grant1509 and it seems like the choice is clear for GW assuming you like it @ admitted students day. can’t beat cheaper AND better for your major. i was also accepted to pitt and won’t be attending due to financial constraints.
