@ArchibaldTuttle Thanks for the info. Do you know if they have a specific day of the week they announce the decisions?
@princesstransfer Some transfers bond with each other more than others, but I really didn’t as much. This I chalk up to not living in the same dorm as transfers because they tended to stick us wherever there was room; but if you get in and live in the transfer community then of course you won’t have that problem.
Off the top of my head I know that a good amount of transfers come from GW and AU (although this might be because those schools have a disproportionately large amount of applicants from the); I know at least 4 other kids from AU my year and at least another 4 from GW. On the whole though, it’s a pretty decent grab bag of kids. I’ve seen kids from Cornell, Dartmouth, West Point, Villanova, UCLA, Berkeley, UMD College Park, SUNYs, University of Washington, Wellesley, McGill, Rutgers, NYU, Montgomery, Vassar, Middlebury, ASU, Lehigh, Boston College, Tufts, Boston U, and a smattering of CC’s (mostly in California). As you can see though, there’s definitely a preference for 4-year colleges, and higher-up ones at that.
@baoz0408 I didn’t keep track of which day subsequent admissions decisions came out, but I know my decision came on a Tuesday. You can refer to the 2014 thread for info like that though.
I just got that missing documents email!
@ArchibaldTuttle Thanks for the well wishes - really hope I get to see you down at Gtown. I’m at one of those first 5 or 6 schools you listed above right now…do you think the caliber of your current school can significantly help tip the scales one way or the other? Also, can we say that from her on out, decisions can really be any day now?! Thanks again for stopping by this thread - it’s much appreciated!
I don’t know about you guys but I am about to start finals and am going to be freaking paranoid about checking my email! I’m assuming the first batch will come out the middle of next week
Hi guys! I’m so glad I found this thread! I haven’t recevied any missing documentation emails and I’ve completed my interview several weeks ago so I’m hoping my application is complete. I’m really hoping that my admission decision won’t come on June 1st… the earlier the better, the wait is killing me! Does anyone happen to know how that works? Like do most decisions come ON June 1st? Or are they spread out throughout May? Thanks guys!
Yes they said on their website that they will have all admissions decisions by June 1st. Not sure about if they’ll be telling people earlier though.
They made sure to stress that not everyone is guaranteed an interview, and if you don’t get one it is most entirely because of geographic location— not having an interview will not harm you in the application process.
@princesstransfer same here re: starting finals!! It’s the absolute worst combination of stress/excitement/misery/anxiety
Based on my school’s academic schedule I’m in for another 30 or so days! It would be such a great boost to get the letter early to help power through finals. Good luck to everyone in the next few weeks, I hope to see you all in transfer orientation next semester at Georgetown.

Goody luck everyone, HOYA SAXA
Just got my admissions decision via email earlier today. Accepted!
@xnsch787 what school did you apply to? does the letter give info about how many applied/how many they are accepting? any thoughts about why you got your acceptance so early?
@princesstransfer applied to the college for government and economics. letter said that about 2,100 people applied of which they had about 150 spaces. I’m not sure why mine came so early to be honest, but everything seems legit and all my logins and information works
@xnsch787 congrats! have you talked to any other accepted transfers? do you know if all of the schools released letters today or just the college?
Congrats @xnsch787
Did you request for early decision? @xnsch787
Wow!! @xnsch787 huge congrats! When did you submit your app? And are you international?
@ArchibaldTuttle do you know the latest time they’ll release a decision via email on any particular day? Like…could I be getting a decision email at 10pm?
@Brifes I believe they will always be released around 5-6 pm EST, now I am paranoid to check my email!!! it will be a nervous time until June 1st
@princesstransfer AHHH!!! I can’t believe it’s finally happening
@Brifes I know!! I wasn’t prepared to deal with this for at least another week!!! Now i’m just praying to see an email in my inbox sooner rather than later
