Georgetown 2020 Applicants***

@jackrabbit14 I don’t think there is a portal. I was looking through past years threads and people were saying that Admissions just emails you if they’re missing something.

@jackrabbit14 @ellesea thank you haha that’s good to know :slight_smile:

@Rosabella98 No problem, I was stressing about it too and I tried looking through past threads to get an answer and that’s what I found.

I appreciate it :slight_smile: @ellesea did you already interview? What was it like (if you don’t mind me asking)?

@Rosabella98 I haven’t interviewed yet and I’m actually having problems communicating with my interviewer. If anyone else has interviewed, can they post how it went?

My interview went very well. We communicated through email, set up and interview within a week, I sent him a 2 page resume, and met at a local cafe. Talked about my big extracurriculars - soccer, sailing, Spanish honor society president, my big interests - us history and government, and why I wanted to go to Georgetown. He said he thought I was a perfect fit and had a lot to offer the school.

@ellesea

I had my interview already. It was really easy to communicate with him via email and we set up the interview within days. We met at his office and he was really excited to talk to me. I was a bit concerned because he graduated decades ago but it was great because his daughter goes to Georgetown so he knew a lot about more recent stuff as well. I think the interview went well, though I feel as though I could’ve talked myself up a bit more. He asked me about my grades, my school, my siblings, my extracurriculars, where I applied, what some of my hobbies are. He thought I was a perfect fit for the college being undecided and having varied interests. He said he’d write me a great recommendation and that it was his job to try and help applicants be “the 1 in 6.” So hopefully it worked.

Recs are good, first essay was very solid. I’m applying for financial aid and am a middle-class white male with no real hook.
I’m applying to Georgetown College as a political science major, my brother is Georgetown Business class of 2017 and has a very high position in a high-caliber student organization. My interview went extremely well. Here’s hoping we all get in folks!! Some of your profiles make me feel like a very weak applicant!!

@JerzJim there’s no polisci major.

has anyone else applied (RD) completely done including test scores but not been contacted for an interview? Thanks :slight_smile:

^^ I applied RD about a month ago and already interviewed. Nothing to worry about I’m sure, all based upon locale, etc…

Does anyone know if EA applicants will be notified (either way) by email, phone, or mail?

Looks like last year, international students started receiving deferral emails on the 12th. The earliest domestic acceptances arrived the 13th through the mail.

omg i live in an area where interviews are realyl easy to schedule lol and so many of my friends already interviewed lowkey extreme worried

only 15 days left!
