Hey everyone, I noticed there wasn’t a discussion for all of us accepting a place on the waitlist, so I thought I’d start one
I was waitlisted at MSB, currently dying on the inside, Georgetown is by far my top choice, does anyone have any advice for sending extra materials? Or any possible way to increase the chance of getting off the waitlist? Thank you!
I was waitlisted at SFS, which is still definitely my top choice. To be honest I thought I had no chance, but I think the fact that I’m a legacy helped. I sent a letter to my admissions person, letting her know I’m taking another AP class and that Georgetown is by far my top choice. I think I might also send another recommendation, but do you guys think that’s too much?
@lulu84321 it definitely couldn’t hurt, I think they’ll care more about the extra AP though, and things of that matter (I’m just guessing)
Does anyone know how many people are wait listed?
Also if we should send in our currents grades before May? My school does 4 9 week grading periods so we just had our third one and I did not do great because senioritis… Do you think I can send in like a progress report of my current grades before May?
@jturci last year, it was around 2,200
@DoubleD11 do you know the breakdown by school?
@lulu84321 I’m not sure actually, but if anyone else knows, that’d be great
How likely is it for someone to get removed from the wait list?
@jturci depends on the school, it’s different for business, SFS, etc, I believe it says on a sheet included with the waitlist offer
I haven’t gotten an email confirmation about opting into the waitlist, should I be concerned?
Wait listed at SFS. Rejected from all the ivies (rather the 6 that I applied to) so I really want this
Waitlisted at the college. I kept up all A’s in my third quarter so I guess I can mention that along with the fact that I am still head over heels for Gtown.
Would it hurt to send in a letter of continued interest? And if so, where to? Do they want that emailed or a hard copy?
waitlisted at SFS. put in my deposit at UVA but if Georgetown works out I’m going there
I was looking at the application website again and saw that McDonough applicants were supposed to send in recommendations from a math/social studies teacher. I used my AP Chem and English teachers as recommenders for all my other schools, and sent those to Georgetown as well. Do you think that will hurt my chances of getting in?
Did anyone else who submitted their wait list acceptance online not get a confirmation email?
@NickDS I haven’t gotten one and I sent mine in the same day I got my letter in the mail
@stodghill @NickDS I don’t believe they sent a confirmation, I didn’t get one either.
