Congratulations!!
Do we know of anyone besides padrelover (congrats!!!)?
still waiting
I called them today, and asked about the update for waitlist. She told me they will be only mailed to us by May 15th. I asked if we receive calls or anything, she told me no. I bet those calls are not from direct admissions, but just officers. Hopefully, we get letters in soon, super anxious!!!
did they call you today padrelover??
@lineleader Yes! They called me this morning at 10:30 EST
@padrelover Did they give you any information about how many other people they plan to admit? Did your regional counselor call you today or was it the main admissions office?
@JGLASS18 It was a call from my regional counselor - he didn’t give me any more info about other spots. All I know is when he called me the day before, he said that those calls for highly considered students are very rare - only a few dozen students get them.
So we should get notified in the mail by the 15th? Is that good or bad I thought a lot of colleges call all their accepted students
@businessg101 they always notify everyone by mail around may 15th but usually they call accepted students before hand-- this year could be different or they could just be accepting very few students
Do u think they already made all the phone calls tho?? @NickDS
@bretts916 We know at least one person has. But if you look at past friends a ton of people had heard by now and still heard on the last few days of this week.
Please share if you have heard anything
Keep sane everyone, four more days! Go Hoyas <3
From Georgetown:
Similarly to previous years, around 2,000 students were offered a spot on the waitlist. Deacon anticipated that roughly 70 to 100 students will be accepted when final decisions are released by May 15.
He emphasized that this year’s waitlist is strong, noting that the average waitlisted student had nearly identical SAT scores to the average admit.
“We purposely try not to make the waiting list large and not put anybody on there as a gesture,” Deacon said. “The only people on the waitlist are people we would be accepting if there were room for them.”
Should we hear tomorrow
So…the 15th is a Sunday, does that mean we could possibly find out on Monday the 16th?
Hey guys! I am an international student from China. After receiving an E-mail for a phone call regarding my Waitlist status, I called the Senior Associate Director of Admissions just now and she asked me whether I still wanted to be on the Waitlist since they have a relatively long Waitlist and will post all of their decision by the end of the June.
I do not know why do they tell me this information via the phone call. I have already told them that I wanted to remain on the Waitlist in the E-mail that she wrote to me. Moreover, isn’t it trivial and sophisticated to do that to so many students?
At first I was pretty excited about it, but then I am deeply frustrated. Eh.
@masterpuppies I’m kind of confused… she emailed you and asked you to call her?
Yes. She said that she wanted to talk to me on the phone to chat about my place on the waitlist at Georgetown, and if I am still interested in Georgetown, I should write a letter to her for possible times. I initially called her in the morning, but she was not available, and I finally called her in the afternoon.
