@greenfinger You never know. Something you wrote or something else in your application might speak to them and then your’e in. Think positive! Good luck!
It’s usually 2 days to get to NY
Does anyone know how long it takes for Georgetown letters to reach California? Specifically the Bay Area?
The message in our portal reads: “Decision letters for first-year applicants will be mailed on Wednesday afternoon, March 27. In addition, decisions will also be released here in your the Applicant Portal on Saturday evening, March 30 at 5:00pm EDT.”
For EA round, Gtown tweeted on a Thursday at 6:22AM (“decisions in the mail”) and I received mine by mail in NY on Saturday. I think a limited number of people in the immediate DC/VA area received them on Friday (the day after they were mailed).
Use this link:: https://www.usps.com/priority-mail/map/
To see how long it will take for the letter to arrive to your zip code area.
I live 30 mins away and USPS says it will arrive within 1 day.

latest update:
We are writing to notify you that Georgetown University Regular Decision admissions decisions have been mailed as of this afternoon, Wednesday, March 27. While we hope that your decision letter will reach you in the next several days, your decision will also be available through the Georgetown applicant portal starting at 5pm EDT on Saturday, March 30.
Best regards,
The Office of Undergraduate Admissions
My heart rate shot up when I got that
oh my gosh me too
why can’t schools send the decisions today on the portal? its not like they can change them now
I really hope that they’re not mailing physical letters to international kids…
Should international students expect nothing until the 30th at 5pm?
How did you know how much the letters weigh?
@greenfinger I think your stats look good. It might help if your parents paid a coach $100K or more to say your an athlete. In all seriousness, I don’t know your race, but it is very difficult for a white to get into these Elite schools if the white is from a middle to upper middle class background. Those are the ones that get squeezed out. The kids at my school who have gotten in Elite schools this year, while they come from successful families, they are all immigrants (Russia, Asia, etc.) and have fluency in a foreign language and can claim to be First Generation American. We have several valedictorians (all w/same GPA), and the only ones who got into Elite schools are the foreign born. Whites born in US w/the same or slightly higher SATs didn’t get accepted to the Elite schools – other than one superb baseball player who got into UPenn.
@theplacesyoullgo you can tell the letter weight by how expensive the stamp is. 68 cents usually indicates two pieces of paper which is what the acceptance letter has.
I’m pretty sure some parts of new york are in 2 day and some are in three, albany is in two but a lot of the more north and west of upstate are in 3. i would assume then that the city is in two. so probably, friday.
Does anyone know if we can call Georgetown for our decision?
Does anyone know when New Jersey residents will receive their letter? And also, if you have lower scores/gpa, does being a First Generation student and an URM help?
@lax2019 NJ likely Friday, maybe Saturday or Thursday.
Yes URM and First Generation help, but only so much.
can you send me the portal link?
I know this is kinda late but could someone Chance me I can’t wait haha
