Georgetown Admissions Ambassador Program

Did anyone receive a letter from GAAP written by a current student from Georgetown who was originally from your home state encouraging you to consider Georgetown in your college search?

If you did receive this letter, do you know if everyone who applies (early or regular) is sent a letter?

Thanks.

--Lauren

I believe you are sent a letter like that if you come from an underrepresented state at Georgetown.

Yep, I did and I'm from NY (which is definitely not an underrepresented state). I actually emailed her a few times way before the letter came, so I don't know if that had anything to do with it. BTW, 2 weeks and less than 2 days until we hear. Eeek!

I got one, although I've never contacted him before.

California is definitely not underrepresented, and I got one.

So does everyone get one? Or do people who Georgetown are interested in receive a letter? Ah. It's killing me!

--Lauren

I'm pretty sure it's everyone.

Yes, I'm from California and got one too.

damn i didnt get one! NJ here. i hope thats not a bad sign. what do these letters say?

It's from the regional GAAP ambassador (Chairperson). Mine was from the California chairperson of the Georgetown Admissions Ambassador Program.. Basically encouraging me to come to Georgetown and stuff.. I forgot her name, but it sounded really nice..

Like it takes a letter to convince me to go.. :-P If I'm accepted, I'll express mail my deposit the next day.. LOL. I'm not kidding, either..

I got one too, I'll let 'em knoew if/when I get in! (Trying to remain optimistic/not too coccky)
