In order to get into Georgetown, should I improve my SAT I and SAT II tests? SAT: 1450/1600 (CR 720, M 730, W 700) SAT subjects: Chem 710, U.S. History 720, Math 1 680:-()
I have a 4.0 unweighted, 4.6 weighted, top 1% of class at top private school in western NY. ACT score is 33, strong ECs, around 180 service hours. I’m a Caucasian female. Are my standardized tests too low?
The math subject test is a bit low but otherwise you are a strong applicant
Your best strength is your placement in class ranking. Georgetown loves those who rank 1, 2 or 3 in their HS classes. Our son was a co-val in 2011 and was accepted and attended, graduating last May. 49% of his entering class were ranked in the top 3 according to the University President during the welcoming convocation address in fall 2011. I understand the numbers were in the mid to upper forties for the following 2012 HS class as well. His SAT was 2160 and his ACT was 33. Essays and RecLetters were excellent and his EC’s were varied and included a fair amount of leadership responsibilities. Work on a unique essay and strongly consider Early Action. Good luck.
Your test scores look fine. I got a 650 on an SAT subject test and everything turned out alright.
