Hi! I’m a current Junior at a top five high school in Tennessee. I’m applying to Georgetown Early Action for Class of 2024. I Here’s my stats. I would appreciate any advice as to how I can strengthen my application and any prediction of my chances :slight_smile:

Unweighted: 4.0
Weighted: 4.35

-will complete SAT and SAT Subject Tests by end of Junior year
-ACT: 33 (E:35,R:36,M:29,S:31)-- hoping to raise that score to 34
-PSAT: 1360 (E:720, M:640)
-will complete SAT US History, English, World History subject tests

I’m going to use my engineering teacher (had for Principles of Engineering and Unmanned Aerial Systems I) who has a PhD and the teacher I’ve had both U.S. History and U.S. Government with. I also have a very close relations with my counselour and these two teachers. They should be fairly good (around 8/10 or 9/10).

I am applying to Georgetown College to study government with a minor in linguistics.

I’m also Samoan-American.

@abaileca You know, I’m just a parent with my daughter looking to join the class after you. (She’s a sophomore this year.) I have no particular expertise, but what you’ve posted looks like a strong application for any school. You should definitely apply!

@abaileca … I have no idea whether being Samoan-American will give you a bump, but I am sure there are others on this thread who will let you know. As far as your another accomplishments, your GPA is excellent with a rigorous curriculum (does your school rank?) and your extra curricular activities are very strong. Your only soft spot is your ACT score. I strongly recommend getting it to a 34 or 35 if possible. Also, your subject test scores will be important. Overall I would say you are def in the hunt.
