Hey all. I've posted on here a couple of times, but nobody has really given me a "chance" on whether I have a shot at Georgetown University. It really is my dream, and I was just wondering if you all think i have a good chance, as oppose to a slight chance. Thanks.

Stats:

I am a sophomore, applying to be a junior at Georgetown
I am applying to the College of Arts and Sciences

College:
3.92 GPA
3 High Profile Internships (Presidential Campaign, Congressman, etc.) over 18 hours a week
Published an article my freshman year
Many clubs with leadership positions

High School:
3.4 GPA (UW)
SAT: 650 Math 660 Reading (Georgetown doesn't use Writing)
760 SAT II US HISTORY

A Recommendation from a current and former professor of Georgetown. As well as a recommendation from my congressman (I know its more than is requested but theysaid it was ok)

1.) are you applying from a 4 year or community college?

2.) are you applying as a gov/pol science major?

You're in, just curious but is that a state congressman or a federal congressman you got the recommendation from?

oops. i forgot that part.

I am transferring from George Mason University

The recommendation is from my congressman in the US House of Representatives.

Any comments are appreciated

i think you have a great chance; georgetown likes polisci stuff; those internships are awesome. i'd try to get that sat up though...definitely, definitely, defintely apply.

Georgetown is more selective than usual for pol sci/gov majors.....but i think you have a great shot b/c of your gpa.

too late to retake the sat, and i think it is unnecessary, anyway

Yeah, there is no way I'm going to go through the SAT stuff again. Just to note, i am applying as a history major, instead of poli sci/govt. If that makes a difference.
