Yes… snail mail. Last year, decisions were mailed on Dec 9th, and the earliest decision posted on CC was Dec 10th! So we have roughly 15 days… depending where you live. MA isn’t too far from DC :)

Oh, I’m glad to hear that they’re mailed early so that the 15th is the latest they would come. I have to be out of town that weekend and don’t want to miss ds opening the envelope. Can you tell from the envelope whether it’s a yes or no? In other words, fat or thin?

I read in an earlier post that they’re the same either way, but I have no idea if that is true or not.

18 days MAXIMUM until we find out

Quite a dated article… but still interesting! It’s about Georgetown’s admissions process. [Inside Georgetown’s Admissions Deliberations - ABC News](<a href=“Inside Georgetown's Admissions Deliberations - ABC News”>Inside Georgetown's Admissions Deliberations - ABC News)

Haha, I heard that either way, you get a thin envelope.

I heard that the accepted envelope has like 3 sheets of paper, and the deferred envelope has 1. So you may be able to tell the difference if you practice (apparently people did that last year).

OR you could just open it lol

Regular decisions were mailed in letter sized envelopes. The paper was a different color depending on whether you were accepted, wait listed or rejected.

Colored paper seems so dramatic. Like is it bright red for rejection and gold for acceptance?

Just tri-folded three pieces of paper to feel what it felt like…

I applied EA and have been in contact with my interviewer, but she has cancelled on me multiple times and we have still not met. This should not reflect my interests in the school, right?

I don’t think so. From my experience, interviewers are not always the best representation of the school. My Georgetown interviewer was literally amazing and we still talk, but my UChicago interviewer was rude and racist.

I applied to UChicago too! (both GU and UChicago are my top choices) and good, because ive literally contacted her a million times

You should let Georgetown know that you were unable to schedule an interview. According to the email that Georgetown sent out, they want student to take the initiative to schedule an interview. If you never have an interview, it might look like you didn’t take the initiative. Make sure Georgetown knows that you did, but that the interviewer did not take the time to meet you.

Be careful though. My interviewer had to meet a Nov 20 deadline to submit his evaluation for the early action round.

Based on last year, I’m guessing decisions will be mailed Dec 7th, 8th, or 10th. If that’s the case… we have like 2 weeks (if you live close-ish to DC). GETTING ANXIOUS!!!

Waiting is just making me really depressed because I am NOT even close to confident on my chances.

Then I get deferred and the I have a few days to fill out apps for 5 colleges I was hoping I wouldn’t have to apply to. It’s really going to suck. And then how I’ll just stop caring about school.

I hate how Georgetown’s admissions process is so old school that they don’t have a status check and you have to wait for them to mail the decision. I don’t have any good news yet, the wait is killing me…

Apparently Georgetown mails out the decisions the Friday before their exams start, which would be the 7th. If that happens, people from DC/MD/VA could hear as early as Saturday the 8th and everyone else Monday or Tuesday the 9th and 10th. Ahhhhh, the stress!
