Georgetown Class of 2017 EA/RD Discussion Thread

WAIT no way, this is awesome. That means I’ll find out the 10th. I’m currently panicking. Are you sure that they’re sending them the 7th @callie101???

[Postage Price Calculator](<a href=“File Not Found”>http://postcalc.usps.com/) Use this postage calculator to figure out when it will arrive! I’m assuming its standard shipping…

Wait so technically we’ll be getting our answers earlier than other school’s Early Actions? I can’t complain.

This makes me excited. I’m not going to tell ds so he’ll be surprised – and not disappointed if this is wrong.

I’m going on a college trip to see the last 3 schools on my list I haven’t visited that weekend and I get home late at night on Monday the 10th. According to the postage calculator my letter will be waiting for me if they mail it on the 7th. This is probably a good thing since if I’m deferred, I will have hope for other colleges. I just don’t know if I’ll be able to focus on Monday if I know my letter is at home.

Hey everyone!
So as a GU freshman, I just wanted to clear some stuff up about the admissions process. I applied RD, but a friend of mine applied EA and she received her letter on the 9th and we lived in Hawaii–this semester at Georgetown our last day of classes before finals is the 7th, so that would make sense if they send the letters out then.

In terms of the letters they send, acceptance letters are in a regular sized envelope which looks pretty thin. There are three pieces of paper–acceptance letter, an information sheet (this sheet is blue, but its a very light blue–not a brightly colored paper) and a deposit form.

Good luck to all of you–the whole college application process sucks but you’ll get through it. Georgetown is a wonderful place but there are other amazing schools of it doesn’t work out. Hope this helps! Feel free to ask me any questions you may have!

What about internationals? Are the emails sent out on the 7th, too???

Can you see the light blue through the envelope?

Jk…I think.

@GU808123 - Can you tell me anything about NHS and the International Health department? Literally nobody on this forum is applying to NHS… do you know anyone majoring in international health?

Also, are public school students at a disadvantage during admissions?

askboston: my daughter is a freshman in MSB. Her roomate is in NHS. Thus far she likes her classes and fellow NHS classmates and is pleased with her NHS major decision.

I wonder if I should be glad I didn’t apply to MSB/NHS which got more applications or not glad that I didn’t apply to the College which got less.

Or glad that SFS stayed the same.

CSIHIS: How do you know which schools got more/less? Are you talking this year?

[Early Applications Hit Record High - News - The Hoya](http://www.thehoya.com/news/early-applications-hit-record-high-1.2955333#.ULkvsZPjmi4)

Their newspaper put up this pretty article.

Well that sucks…

I’ve seen similar reports of record high EA numbers for other schools. I guess it’s the deadline delay thing, or just that the trend is generally an increasing number of applicants to top schools.

Thanks for the info GU808123! What school are you in, and how do you like Georgetown so far?

Ahhhh I’m so happy that the decision letter will be coming earlier than the established date! I live on the other side of the country in the west coast, so I was a bit worried. Theoretically, my mail should come in on the 8th, but I doubt it.

I’m kind of glad it’s snail mail in a way…itsmore of a real experience! Although the rejection will be more tangible bahahaha so sadddd

Sad tohear that more ppl applied to msb this year though
Good luck everyone!

I just got an email saying they never received my fee waiver, but I mailed in a check for the application fee! Now I’m super stressed.

when do we get results? (date)
thanks :D

mmmgirl, I had the same problem - but Georgetown doesn’t take checks. The only other way to pay is the fee waiver - I would call them. The admissions people are all accomodating, I’m sure they’ll understand:)
