I’m applying RD, and was wondering what advice y’all have about Georgetown College versus Walsh? I’m interested in journalism and international relations (think foreign correspondent) so at other schools I’m considering doing journalism and international relations double major. Does this kind of a cross-school double major (I guess International Politics and English) work at Georgetown? If so, which school should I list on my application: Georgetown College or Walsh?

I would say college to allow yourself to have access to many disciplines in case you change your mind, plus both of those are available within the college.

Great, thank you! I’m clearly still doing my research :)

Don’t believe you can double major in SFS.

CSIHSIS is correct. There are no double majors in SFS, although SFS does allow majors to complete a certificate program in addition to a major as explained on the link below.

would anyone answer these questions again:

1 Will international students receive letters of acceptance/deferral, etc. at the same time?
2. what is the exact date again?

thanks muchos.

They mail all decisions at the same time, so people get the letters at different times depending on location. Our educated guess is that they will mail them on the 7th.

Odd…Gtown says that decisions for EA come out around the 15th???

We live in Massachusetts, and last year my son applied for EA to the college. He received his letter on December 13. Good luck to you all! Georgetown is a great place.

Technically they say that everyone will have their decision by the 15th, so they would mail them about a week early in order to meet that deadline.

Georgetown doesn’t take checks?? How the hell am I supposed to pay?

I asked my counsellor for a fee waiver… But if you can’t get that then you can always call admissions and explain your situation. It is, afterall, their job to make it easier for you to do these transactions. I did the same thing and they offered to have me just… not pay for the application. But I was too OCD to take the chance. Call them:)

Uh, with a credit card?

I submitted my personal profile and indicated I was interested in applying to SFS. However, now I am having second doubts and am thinking of applying to GC instead. Considering I’ve yet to submit Part 2 of the app, how badly would it look to indicate one school in the personal profile and actually apply to another school in the application proper?

EA DECISIONS (most likely) MAILED TOMORROW

I’m so nervous!! :)

Watching the early results from other schools come out makes me really anxious. Also, it freaks me out that they have already decided our fates by this point. Somewhere in the Georgetown admissions office is my name on a list with my decision. Ahh this is terrible.

I get random rushes of anxiety when my mind comes across next week. I hope someone will post here as soon as they get the letter just so we know for sure that they have been sent out!

I’m thinking earliest will be dec 8 or 10? Ahhhhhhhhhhh freaking out

Eniloracw I was literally just thinking the same thing… They’ve already read through the application… and made the verdict…

Does anyone know if they mail the letters with standard postage? Or is it priority/express mail?
