Georgetown Class of 2017 EA/RD Discussion Thread

so when the application asks for you to upload a photo of yourself, what kind of photo do they want? a practical ID type photo, or a photo that you feel conveys something about your personality?

hi guys. i already posted about my inquiry but no one answered on the georgetown thread. my question is if georgetown gives financial aid to international students and if it tries to provide full need?

School of business, boiiiii!! EA

could someone post the essay prompts?

They’re online

yeah but you have to fill out all the data sheets and personal information first, and i dont have access to some of that right now so i was wondering if someone wanted to post the essay prompts.

You can download them! Here ya go:
[First Year Application - Office of Undergraduate Admissions](<a href=“First Year Application | Office of Undergraduate Admissions | Georgetown University”>First Year Application | Office of Undergraduate Admissions | Georgetown University)

thanks, do we need to have our letter of recs already? or can we skip that and add it later?

Do we have to send our scores through the act?

Are the essays one page each single or double spaced?

EA SFS!! My ideal school!

RD SFS!
Does anyone else think that the essay topic for SFS is kind of dangerous? Like if our reader completely disagrees with us, or thinks our position is crap…I guess they wouldn’t intentionally let it affect them, but it still makes me nervous.

Hmm… I don’t think it will matter that much if they don’t agree with us. SFS is the kind of school that appreciates diversity and I’m assuming that the admissions committee would appreciate a strongly supported opinion. I’m really excited about this essay!! But I’m more worried about writing on something too common. You know? Like, last year, I feel like a lot of people might have written about the Arab Spring or Greece… I don’t want to have one of those essays that has the same subject matter as 5,000 other applicants!

hey guys!! I’m probably applying RD to MBS… Does anyone know what in particular McDonough is looking for?

AHHHHHH this is getting more nerve-wracking by the day!!

Chill greyhoundgirl213 … It’s fine. You only have exactly 110 days until EA apps are due. Write like 15 words a day and you’ll get all your essays done by November 1st. Seriously, I wish I had just calmed the eff down when I applied. There ain’t nothin’ you can do but write a decent essay and hope you get lucky. That said, do actually put effort into your essay.

SFS EA yo, yo, yo.

I was planning to apply to three EA schools but now I’m thinking I should just focus on G’town because it’s my crush.

I was going to apply EA until I saw the do not apply ED anywhere statement…c’mon Gtown seriously hahaha. Still really excited to apply RD :)

im applying RD to the college for either bio or biochemistry (premed focus). the essay for the college was seriously “tell us about yourself”. how the heck am i supposed to write an amazing essay all about myself, i mean im seriously a boring person. i wish we had a political essay like SFS!

^I’m applying as Biochemistry major too but I also want to double in French. I have no idea what I’m going to do for that essay either  I mean someone who collects stamps would prob be more interesting than me
