oh wait i actually have to ammend what i said above. everyone has to write the essay about ourselves. and then gtown college applicants actually have to write another one about how the major we are applying for relates to our goals. which is basically just as bad. i think i could sum up how my major relates to my goals in like, one or two sentences.
and ivyvision good luck with your double major in french! that sounds very difficult I dont think i would be able to do a double major. i’m still deciding between bio and biochemistry. i know i love bio (i took ap bio as a junior last year, got a 5 on the test and a 780 on the sat), but im taking ap chem this year and i kind of want to see how it goes

In that essay are you supposed to use “I” a lot?

Hey, just to help the SFS kids out, I was accepted RD last year, and basically for the essay just write about what you care about. I wrote about Kony (before he got famous lol) and just put down your ideas and such, as long as your sincere, it’ll be fine.

Hi! I’ll also be applying, most likely RD to the College. Georgetown is one of the schools I’m most excited about possibly attending and I’m really hoping I get in!

@CSIHSIS - I think using “I” would be fine, but wouldn’t it be better off if you took a different angle on it.

Georgetown, 2013 fall applicants, let’s go!

I’m applying to Gtown this year. Let’s keep this thread going !

Just curious, what are you guys planning to major in? I’m definitely going for government…

Probably International Political Economy… not too sure what that entales yet but it’s close enough to what I want to do:p
Are you applying early??

I’m thinking about International Political Economy, too!

I’m applying RD for physics :)

Anyone else applying to the FLL section of the College? :)

Yeah, I think I will apply EA after all… I would love to go to Georgetown!

Hi guys! so i’m a georgetown hopeful but i was wondering how much they weigh their decision on sats and sat 2 cause my scores are average…my ECs are pretty good (i guess thats subjective) and my gpa is good too, hopefully my essays will kick but!

oh and hoping to go into an international health major and pre-med track! :)

Top tier colleges like GU typically look for high SAT scores, but they’re more of a prerequisite than a deciding factor. As long as you score within or above their range, then it really comes down to rigor, GPA, and intangibles.

what would you say the range is for GU?

on college board the range is:
CR~640-740
M~650-750
W~they don’t look at it

i know their dorming is said to mandatory for the first two years, but is that really the case? i’m hoping not because i can commute…any flexibilty on that?

Would anyone be interested in chancing me? I’m lightly within the above CR range, but my math is horrible:( I’m retaking the SAT just a month before I send off my early action application… does anyone think I should even apply early?

well if you really want to go there and your SAT scores arent well within the range, you might have a better chance if you apply ED

Forgot to post a link to my chances thread: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1376564-chances-international-student.html

@hellogoodbye13 I plan to retake the SAT’s, see scores in above thread
