Georgetown Class of 2017 EA/RD Discussion Thread

Unfortunately, that isn’t fine:
“Georgetown University does not participate in the Score Choice option available through the College Board… Georgetown requires that you submit scores from all test sittings of the SAT, ACT or SAT Subject Tests. Georgetown evaluates thousands of competitive applicants each year for admission; access to your full testing profile enables the admissions committee to fully and fairly assess your individual strengths in comparison to the entire applicant pool.”

yup they require ALL scores.

sent the app in around 10:30 last night. scary stuff.

Thank Jesus the deadline has been extended to 11/5. I just got my power back on now.

How confident are you guys feeling?

I’m applying EA SFS so honestly I’m not feeling that great. My SATs are kind of low for SFS so I think I’ll get deferred and then have a better chance from there.

I’m not feeling incredibly confident, but I feel like I have a good chance. I’m applying EA to NHS as a male, and most of the people applying to NHS are females. Plus, nursing is the most popular major in NHS, and I’m not applying to be a nurse either. Plus I’ve done a lot in the realm of international health, which is what I’m applying for. We shall see…

Due to Hurricane Sandy, I have not been in school all week and probably will not be able to be until November 5. I also do not have electricity in my home, making the process of applying more difficult. If I call Georgetown Admissions, do you guys think that they would give me yet another deadline extension? This is really bugging me! I am unable to contact my guidance counselor at all as I believe her town has been evacuated.

app submitted!
stuff just got 10x real.

good luck to everyone!

How do you think Georgetown will view dual-enrollment? (4.0/1540)

Also, may the odds be in your favor! :)

well… the hard part’s over.

I’m confused as to whether the extended deadline applies to everyone or strictly to people in the Northeast? I live in Florida and we were affected somewhat by Sandy, but we didn’t get the worst of it. I didn’t lose power but my friend’s house, where I use the Internet, did, and schools were closed for 2 days which would definitely a lot of people’s ability to get their materials in.

had my interview for georgetown today. went well.

do you think a 1320(math 700 and CR 620) has a chance into McDonough?

Wait… so regular decision SFS has higher SATs but also a higher acceptance rate than EA?

I don’t know whether to be excited or worried lol…

I don’t think it will get you, but it probably won’t keep you out. It is so much more than SAT scores.

Had my interview today, it went awesome .

So is anyone applying to NHS?

what SAT Subject Tests are considered acceptable for applying? I’m taking the SATs in december
