Georgetown Class of 2018 (HS Class of 2014)

Was Georgetown closed yesterday as well?

No. Hope this helps; we are a legacy family and have never received an acceptance letter pass the date of receipt posted on GU website.

@PtDvne27 how far away is your family from GU?

Honolulu, Hawaii patiently waiting for another decision. I’m not saying it’s easy but after you submit your application there is nothing else you can do but have faith in your accomplishments and wait.

@PtDvne27 Do you remember if it was sent first class mail or standard?

It will arrive regular postage nothing special to my knowledge. However, we never really noticed since the envelope is a simple normal size letter. The remaining information arrives separately.

If they were sent on December 6th, there is a chance we may get them tomorrow. In that case, I’m going to be on watch starting tomorrow.

Who said they were sent on the 6th?

Previous threads have stated they are sent the day classes end. Classes ended December 6th.

Well unless you live in the NoVa/Maryland area you won’t get yours tomorrow. As soon as they get theirs, they’ll post here and then other east coasters will know that they should get them in the following day (s).

Last year’s letters were dated the 11th or 12th, which corresponded roughly with the beginning of exams (12th), not the final day of classes (the 7th).

This year, exams start tomorrow (the 11th). And given that the office was closed today, I would expect that letters would be mailed around the starting around the 12th, tomorrow if we’re lucky.

So basically keep an eye out starting tomorrow if they were sent out when classes ended (I’m only going on that side due to December 15th being a Sunday) and continue to keep an eye out until the end of next week.

I don’t actually think DC/MD/VA get their letters before other people because they’re close. I remember the “rumor” last year being they staggered mailing so people in California would get them the same day as everyone else.

Anyone on the East coast get them yet?

@CSIHSIS Since you work in the admissions office, do you know if letters have been mailed out yet?

No, I’m busy with finals. If you call the office they’ll probably tell you.

Good luck with your finals and thanks for your reply!

Someone call!

All lines are busy. I’m hoping that means someone is calling.

Ok, I called. The letters will go out to arrive either a day before or day after the 15th. All envelopes will be small. No staggered mailing, so east coast will hear first. Please post when you receive. So, it’s coming…good luck to everyone!!
