I’m planning on applying. I know that it recommends 3 SAT Subject Tests, but I really do not want to take them. Has anyone here been accepted without them? Is it a better idea to focus on improving my ACT, and seeing what happens without the subject tests?

I plan to apply reg decision, but I want to see who Im going up against on CC!

GPA? SATS? ETC

Debater: No, take them. If you apply EA they’re okay with only two, but if you get deferred then they want another one.

lol @ladythug sizing up the competition… totally trying to myself but I’m too shy to come out and say that…

Hey guys! Could someone post the three essay prompts in Part II please? For various reasons, I’m not ready to submit Part I and I’m not ready to pay the application fee. I know it’s early, but I want to gauge the essays before deciding to apply. Thanks!

For EA, do they see your first quarter senior grades? Also, I don’t really get how they evaluate gpa. Is it weighted unweighted? Are essays more heavily weighed than gpa/scores?

They do not get your quarter ones. They look at both GPAs in context with rank. Both are very important. But I sent in my rough drafts on accident and still got in. They look at ideas more. But still maybe edit.

Hey guys! I’m applying EA as I am dead set on attending Georgetown. Does anyone know if the subject test scores can be sent in later than the deadline in November? I haven’t been able to take any subject tests yet and I’m not positive that the scores will be in by Nov. 1st?

October tests and earlier will make it, but if you take the November test they’ll only use them if you’re deferred.

CSI, does that mean the ACT from very late October will count? Per your advice, I’m going to take the SAT II’s in early October.

Don’t know about the ACT. It was a bad idea to leave testing until senior year.

I had no idea that the SAT Subject Tests existed until I joined this site in May, so there wasn’t really much of a chance I would have taken them until next year. The ACT is a retake. I’d take it in September, but I have something going on, on the day of the test.

Debater, although SAT subject tests are good, they are not critical for EA. if you get deferred, then they will want them, but not having them for EA won’t end all chances. I applied EA without any subject tests and still got accepted. On the GTown website it says that it won’t count against you, they just recommend sending in scores if you get deferred

The deadline for Early Action applications (and all supporting materials) is November 1.

All my testing is complete except for subject tests. Thanks for the help! I’m going to take at least two on the earliest test date.

Would it be more beneficial to do EA? I’ve heard so many mixed responses…

I’m applying RD because Georgetown won’t look at my senior testing scores. Most of my testing will be down in September and October. At first I dismissed Georgetown because of them being a religion affiliated institution but I like their Foreign Service School enough to make me apply. Living in DC and attending would be amazing. Any other RD applicants?

If you take your tests in Sept/Oct they ~will~ use them for EA, I have no idea what you’re talking about…

^ Yeah you’re right. I misread something. I’m applying Early Action then. :)

Woo! Imma join this chat since Georgetown is my number 2 choice behind UChicago…and also because this thread isn’t 25+ pages in :)

I’ll second others’ questions: is it worth applying EA if you’re not certain your app is Georgetown worthy?
