Yeah, it seems that they often mail letters the day Ivy decisions are released. Hopefully that continues this year - I don’t expect to get in but I would like some closure, especially since all of my other schools will notify me by March 28.

do they email those applicants living overseas?

For those already accepted EA, the financial aid letters (via regular mail) hit the west coast today.

hmm, does that mean the east coast should expect a finaid packet by tomorrow at the latest? what was the postmark date on your letter @yoamogatos?

and good look RD people!! i’m hoping for the best for you guys

Thanks @neontissues! Are you still considering Gtown?

BTW, financial aid packages for EA don’t go out at the same time, they go out depending on when you send in your stuff.

i just found out yesterday that my aid application is incomplete because i didn’t sign a stewardship release form that no one informed me even EXISTED. hmph -____-

@impressionistic yep, definitely! i haven’t gotten any financial aid info from any of my top choices, so i’m still pretty much in limbo about where i’m heading in the fall sigh patience is not a virtue of mine

Does anyone have any insight on when RD notification letters will be sent out?

I’m not sure exactly when, but I don’t think we’ll be receiving them until April, unfortunately.

An admissions officer I talked to said they mail them on the 27th

Mailed for all? Or email for those of us living overseas?

Has anyone gotten any kind of info from Georgetown whose applying RD since they sent in their application other than confirming receipt of application?

I mean, the interview stuff but that’s it for me.

My D didn’t get interview stuff. When she called they said no one in area to interview her. That was concerning since interviews were mandatory…

@sclynkin nope haven’t gotten any info!

My interviewer never responded to my emails, so I never had my interview…I just now realized that’s likely a problem. :P

same. i was never contacted for an interview and when i emailed the school i received no response …oh well

@sclynkin Interviews are only mandatory if they can provide an interviewer within your area to hold the interview. If they did not have anyone within reasonable distance to interview you the interview was waived from your application without any drawbacks of not having an interview done.

Do the students that get accepted never hear anything from Georgetown from after they get news of their application being received until they are accepted? It seems as if they are completely disinterested. My D couldn’t figure out who her admissions rep was and sending application updates was also confusing compared to other schools. I guess we’re expecting a rejection.

What sorts of things were you looking to hear from the admissions office in between those two milestones?

In terms of finding out who the admissions rep is, that information is not posted publicly because for the vast majority of applicants it serves no purpose (and has a tendency to greatly increase spam). However, if an applicant would like that information, they can call the admissions office and receive it.

You’re right that sending application updates (aside from mid-year grades) is not particularly systematized, beyond simply mailing things in. Realistically, though, the required application is sufficiently comprehensive from an evaluative criteria perspective that it’s pretty unlikely any updates between submission time and decision time will have a decisive impact. One more award or activity probably isn’t going to make a difference in the grand scheme of things.
