I dunno… about that @Dartmouth_21. The portion of the email that I posted said that they are still reviewing applications, and finishing them up, and made it sound like my application hadn’t yet been reviewed. So, I don’t think we’ll get decisions Monday. Maybe Tuesday at the earliest.
I think Monday is doubtful also. I’m thinking Wednesday or Thursday, depending on where you live.
Of course they have made all the decisions by now. Because Georgetown mails the letters it is a longer process. Our decisions are being put in envelopes which we will receive most likely by the 15th

According to this thread, I am below average (stats wise), and I am an NHS student who is pre-med, and I was accepted to Georgetown last year RD. If everyone got in based off of stats, I would be at University of Illinois - Urbana Champaign. Everyone who gets a 36 is NOT getting in, and everyone who has a 29 like me is NOT getting rejected. It’s a mix of different factors, and whether or not you end up at Georgetown depends you can’t control. So good luck, and Hoya Saxa to those who get in!
Thank you @Hoya2020 ! You gave me a bit more hope, as someone with similar statistics xD. As EA decisions begin to come out next week, does anyone have suggestions as to improve your application if you were to be denied? Retaking tests and doing your best in school are all I could think of… anything I’m forgetting?
My stats are pretty low compared to others on this thread as well… hoping my extracurricular activities, awards, essays, and reccs help me out

lol my stats seem really low feel free to comment do i even have a shot at EA??
@melrosethecat I think you have a compelling story, so you’ll be a strong candidate, at the least. Its so cool that you’re a quadruplet… I am a quadruplet too!
One week from now we will have our decisions!! Best of luck to all!
@NikkuWadde lol thats so funny, i think you’ve conversed with my sister… maybe being a quad won’t be as strong as a hook with multiple people who are multiples applying lolol (just kidding)
hello, does anyone know for sure if Georgetown considers AP scores? I’ve heard that they don’t and they do. any definite answers please? (applying RD)
@melrosethecat I think I did talk to ur sister. I think I looked at her essay maybe. Anyways I think since we live in areas so far from each other, I highly doubt that your admissions officer and my admissions officer traded out apps like Pokémon cards lol. Plus you’re applying NHS, I’m applying SFS, so we aren’t even competing for the saman “spot”.
@GUMentor this is such a great idea! I think my daughter already has been contacted by someone. Did you guys already start this mentorship program or is this something new? I think she received an email from a current Georgetown student about a month or so ago. Can’t remember exactly when.
@GUMentor thanks so much! Things are going well…she is very excited that she will be finding out in a week or so! And I think she told me she told her mentor she would get back in touch with him after she gets her decision. He has been very helpful to her! This really is a nice idea! Thanks to all of you that are doing this, I’m sure you are all quite busy with your studies and activities!
From past years it seems GU has also called accepted students. Do you think they still do that? We are traveling during during Christmas break…leaving on Dec 16th and returning Jan 2nd. I am afraid we will miss a mailed letter. We know it’s a long shot for my daughter to be accepted EA at GU. Even though she loves GU, I think if she is deferred she will assume it’s even a longer shot to be accepted RD and would consider applying ED2 to another school. But, ED2 signed contracts are due Jan 1st…before we return and thus before she receives her mail. But, knowing if they do call accepted students would enable her to figure out either way…
I have heard that they do that too but not sure if that is every year or not! And I’m not sure all students get calls (I think they try to call everyone but maybe some people fall through the cracks?). Maybe someone can get your mail for you, or once you hear decisions have been received your daughter can call the school and they will tell her verbally, given the circumstances? Good luck to her!!!
Thank you @collegemomjam!
The school does call all accepted students. It’s a nice, personal touch to congratulate those who were accepted and (hopefully) welcome them to the Georgetown community. It’s possible that some people might fall through the cracks; I’ve also heard of instances where students get the call before their letter actually arrives. I guess they can’t time it perfectly due to the uncertainties of mail delivery.
