HI, I was recently accepted to Georgetown College, and couldn’t be happier!
I applied as an economics major to Georgetown College; however, I later regretted not applying to MSB as I feel that my true interests lie in Finance. Would it be possible to switch to the business school before enrolling or would I have to internally transfer during my freshman year? If so, how would I go about doing it? Any feedback is appreciated, thank you!
Current student here. You can potentially do either, but if you are confident about wanting to transfer before starting best to email admissions now or ASAP. In terms of transferring before you start, my understanding is that you just need to have a good reason for changing your mind. If you decide to transfer once you’re at Georgetown (I did an internal transfer after my freshman year) they will look at reason for transferring as well as GPA in college and the classes you’ve taken.
Yes, Finance and Econ are two very different academic subjects so pick the one you really want to study.
Thank you for your response! Do you know if I would have to make a commitment to Georgetown first?
I’m not sure, but it wouldn’t hurt to just ask admissions now and see what they say. (There’s no downside)
