Georgetown Deadline

Georgetown is very equivocal, in my opinion, of the weight; with strategic diction, they have only stated that if you do not have an interview, it will not have an adverse effect on the applicant.

However, consider the contra-positive, which must always be true in any conditional statement:

If there is any adverse effect on the applicant, then he/she did have an interview.

This rejoinder is somewhat frightening: Having an interview can hurt or help, while not having on does "nothing."

Of course, how it is weighted is a mystery, but I claim that Georgetown is trying to avoid answering such a question with an equally ambiguous answer.

One thing to take into consideration is the fact that more transfer students don't have interviews than those who do. We have college schedules to work around, a lot of us work as well, plus there may not be an alumnus in your area. My interviewer has been talking to freshman for several years, and I was one of the few transfers he's ever met with.

Unless you really say something ridiculous and off the wall, I really don't see how the interview could hurt. The really don't ask questions that in my opionin can work in/against your favor...

Just relax. :) It's very layed back!

I just received my interview information:)

I am simultaneously ecstatic and nervous... is there a term for that?

ecstnervous

so has anyone else recevied interview information or had their interview?? the wait is killing me...I called on monday just to make sure they rec'd my entire application (I'm paranoid, the people at my CC seem to only have two functioning brain cells at times) and they said they'll let us know if anything is missing within the next few weeks, that they can only say if they have rec'd the personal data form at this point. I spoke with the nursing admissions people too, they start reviewing apps the end of next week..AHH!! It's getting closer..

I have already had my interview:)

Edit: And by the way, I advise this to everyone: relax. You know you tried your hardest, and whatever happens occurs for a reason; it is the principle of sufficient reason (albiet a distortion)!

Yeah..the interview was rather easy..I think they need to work on an interview process just for transfers, as the questions my interviewer asked me were all from a sheet the school provided him with, pertaining primarily to high school students. But, it was easy and low key. Now we just wait.

What types of questions do they ask?

Do they ask questions off a sheet...or do they just look at your application and ask you questions about that?

Hmm..I don't even think that my interviewer had my application at all to be honest. He asked about my family..what my parents did. If/where they went to school. Siblings. Asked about my hs experience, and work expereinces. Also asked if I had ever been on any great journies or adventures or something like that..Very laid back

Nikki,

My interview was nearly the same and it was at Starbucks.

Starbucks? So jealous..mine was at a law office.

I am actually jealous of you:P

my interview's on monday. i think my interviewer has to do more than one interview, if so, do you think he'll have to say which candidate was the best one?
