My Dad’s good friend from USPS told him that not only is it possible, but it is likely that the east coast and possible some towards the midwest will receive their letters tomorrow. He said that it’s not unusual for letters mailed from DC (or any city) to reach DC, Boston, Virginia, NJ, etc… on the same day. Also said they’re going into overdrive at the post office. Tons of people working like crazy around this time of year. Here’s to hearing tomorrow hopefully (at least for us east coasters).

@Sachem797, Hopefully you’re right! I can’t wait any longer!

International student here. Deferred. Got an email at 8:40 a.m this morning, which should be 7:40 p.m Friday night on the east coast.

@jabbawockie i’m sorry about the deferral. I love your username though, it’s so perfect!

how did he find out so early?

lol thanks. I’d like to know about decisions of other Chinese students though, since I’m wondering whether the deferral has something to do with the mass cheating on SAT recently in Asia.

As an asian applicant myself, that does not sound good.

If anyone gets their letter tomorrow, could they please post general location?

hey there! International applicant here- anyways I got my deferral email around 2 hours ago so I think international applicants can check for their decision in their email right about now!

(I’m an Asian student too…)

why do all the international students get them so early? I thought it was the 15th.

They said international students will be notified on the 15th, you’re getting them so early. Hopefully letters will come to PA tomorrow!

Asian here as well. Got the deferral email this morning…

those who were deferred do you mind posting your stats?

We should make a new EA RESULTS thread for that!

Deferred
SAT: 2210, Critical Reading 710, Math: 800, Writing: 700
SATII: Math Level 2: 800, Physics: 790
TOEFL: 106
IB: 42 + A in TOK, no predicted grade in EE yet. (mostly likely 45/45)
Should have strong recommendation letters and essays.
But don’t have very strong extracurriculars

I am Chinese so dk whether this has something to do with the massive SAT cheating in October…

GU says in its student profile that there were 511 applicants from China last year and only 8 were accepted. That’s a 1.56% acceptance rate. So, it’s not those who applied weren’t qualified, it’s just that Georgetown unfortunately isn’t looking to take many students from China.

Sorry to those deferred! There is hope yet.

I noticed a few talking about a results thread - so I made one! <a href=“Class of 2019 EA Results - Georgetown University - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/georgetown-university/1717864-class-of-2019-ea-results.html

oooooooh my god people already have emails? about to go check mine, wish me luck?

oh my god it’s here, too scared to open it…

no one is home and no one is online on facebook and I really, really can’t open this alone. OH MY GOD I just need to calm doooown
