@writeallnight I’m nowhere near an expert on this, but yes, it seems like you should have hope :)

@writeallnight I dont know much since I’m an applicant but everything looks good. EC’s seem to be a fit for Gtown. 1400+ is well within the average for admitted students.

Anyone want to create an official results only thread?

Announcement from Georgetown UAdmissions Website:

The Early Action notification date is December 15, 2014. Decision letters will be mailed a few days in advance of that date. Students who attend high school abroad will receive an email decision on December 15th.

Do you know if they post what day they mailed the letters?

My son applied EA to Georgetown! Good luck to all applicants!!! I think I am more nervous than him!

Ahhh do they read emails, but not reply??

@klouuu do they just read emails and choose not to respond??

I am at that stage where I am freaking out about whether I wrote my essays correctly and whether I’ll be rejected or not…and I’m trying to prepare myself for a rejection so if I am rejected I won’t feel as bad. But that glimpse of hope is seeping in and I freak out again :/

Alright so looking at all of the past Georgetown forums about acceptance are freaking me out!! Some of these people that got deferred have credentials far superior to mine! I know Im not the only one going back and forth in my mind wondering if Im good enough:/ My test scores arent very good compared to the exceptional students that apply, but my extra curriculars are good and my interview went super well! It sucks knowing that as a person I fit and would do well knowing my work ethic and personality; however, I doubt I’ll get in because test scores are so pertinent! Well only about a week left of the torturous wait! Lets see what happens and good luck to everyone!!

@JalapenoGreens I have no idea…I doubt they would have time to open an email but not have the time respond to it, but who knows? I heard that Georgetown doesn’t do early rejections though, so at least we are all guaranteed at least a deferral haha

Found an interesting article about how the Georgetown admissions committee goes about reading applications and admitting/deferring students. It’s from 2003 but is still very interesting!

<a href=“Inside Georgetown's Admissions Deliberations - ABC News”>http://abcnews.go.com/Nightline/story?id=128422

Good luck to all you EA’s! 8 days!

@klouu I have no idea, I asked them to switch me from RD to EA in an email and when I called to confirm them they said they switched me so I assume they read emails, but don’t respond lol. I had to send them another email to update my app, but I didn’t call to confirm this time

@beyoncebeyoffce there were only 1,590 applicants in 2002 0.0

Hey guys, just curious to know, what are your stats like? (GPA, Rankings, SAT/ACT)

I am pretty sure they read emails but don’t typically reply. I changed from RD to EA through email, and double checked through phone later. It was confirmed, but I never got an email back.

There was an EA results thread for last year, we should recreate something like that.

@Emannn I feel like I am past the stage where I worry over what my stats are like in comparison to others, right now I just know that I did my best and the rest rides on luck. But I know everyone likes to wonder anyways.
ACT: 34, SAT: 2120, GPA: 3.88, Rank: 2/664. Also will have taken 17 APs by the end of high school.

@Emannn lost track of my gpa at this point because i’ve moved schools twice in the past two years, but it’s like 3.95 UW and 4.36 W.
SAT: 2320, SAT IIs: three 800s (lit, math 2, chem), didn’t take the act, school doesn’t rank, and I’ve taken 7 APs so far (six 5s and a 4). taking 4 more APs this year woo

I’m in the comfy position of being able to not worry tooooo much about stats and focus on worrying on EVERYTHING ELSE.

omg everyone has such amazing stats…

ACT: 32 (cries), SAT II: 800, 750, 750. GPA: 4.6 W, 4.0 UW. 6 AP classes so far, 6 more APs this year. School doesn’t rank.

I’m so worried about my act i know it’s really low and it kills my whole app…

Ok now I feel absolutely hopeless?

Has anyone else tried e-mailing the admissions office? I sent an e-mail after I submitted my application to confirm receipt of the items I had to mail (I never got my return receipt ticket back). However, I never heard back from the office. Has anyone else had this problem?
