I am planning on applying to Georgetown, but have not submitted any test scores…I have taken Mathh II and US History, but never submitted them, and was going to take chem on 11/7 but was too sick to take it. Is it worth moving my application to Regular so I can submit subject tests? They don’t require any but “Three are strongly recommended”

Is principal flautist and piccolist in Wind Ensemble a hook? Sorry … I am athlete; and always weighing the hooks for my own kids. Maybe their orchestra needs you? If i had a daughter I would be happy to send her to GTown. Reasonably safe. But not a STEM school in my mind. Tops for Political Science and Foreign Service. So maybe your STEM interest gives you an edge! You look good … but please inquire about the need for your musical gift.
Yes. Submit the best scores you can muster. 33 is good but it could be better. All my kids have take these tests 3 to 5 times. Again … ask about music. Ivy leagues take outstanding athletes with SATs just over 600. What about an outstanding musician?
I call admissions officers all the time. Half the times I get no information and half the times I get my question answered. Give them a call.
I would keep your application as is, and send them an E-mail explaining your circumstances as to why you don’t have the subject tests. They should understand - they see lots of special circumstances, I’m sure.
In response to Burgermeister, it’s generally frowned upon to take any standardized test more than three times. It doesn’t reflect well on the student because it looks like they’re just trying to take advantage of probability in the easiness or hardness of the test that day. That’s just my opinion, but it comes from what I’ve heard.
Schools like Penn, Yale, Cornell, Stanford etc require you to send ALL test scores @Burgermeister. Taking the exams that many times will be a negative.
I’ve taken my exams just once (my father was convinced that taking them multiple times was a sign of intellectual weakness), but sometimes I do wonder - especially when seeing friends improve from 2070 to 2270 or from 2140 to 2360 - if I should retake to improve my 2200 and 34. I’ve got test fatigue though.
3 to 5 times worked for us. S1 and S2 attend schools that compete with Georgetown. One is full ride the other is 3/4 ride. Coaches do not think it is ridiculous. Sorry that am a jock. Would someone answer the question about Olivia’s music. Is it a hook?
