Early Action results are announced on Dec. 15. Will results be mailed (are they supposed to arrive by Dec. 15?), emailed, or posted somewhere else online? What is everyone’s past experience with Georgetown in this regard?

It was expected that the number of apps would go up, though, so it really isn’t much of a surprise EA apps increased too. I applied knowing i probably wouldn’t get in. I’d rather be pleasantly surprised than disappointed :). I can’t wait till the 15th though, i keep thinking “what if”.

Decisions are supposed to arrive in the mail on the 15th. I was reading the forum from last year and some people got them a day early, some a day late. But yeah expecting the worst here, would much rather be pleasantly surprised than upset

I’d rather get deferred over email than letter…I don’t want to have to rip the envelope into shreds and it saves trees!
Yeah I looked at last year’s and 2008’s decisions and they were brutal o.o a lot of very strong applicants didn’t get in

hey guys- i’m living in london so i’m not sure whether or not i would get the decision via email or letter. does anyone know?

Did anyone receive any kind of confirmation from Georgetown saying that your application is complete? I submitted everything in early to mid October and I haven’t received anything.

Internationals are e-mailed their decisions, assuming you listed your school-year address as being abroad (as opposed to, say, being from London but going to boarding school in the States).

Vab22, I have yet to hear back from Georgetown, as well. From what I’ve heard and read, they call you if anything is missing give you time to send what’s missing in.

The admissions office at Georgetown told me they don’t acknowledge submitted applications–though they did acknowledge receipt of the original personal data form–and only get in touch if something is missing, as Zap points out. (Now I wish I had sprung for registered or certified mail!)

So I guess the only way to find out your application arrived is to get the phone call from the alumni wanting to set up an interview.

Yes I think they only contact you if anything is missing. I just got emailed by my admissions counselor saying that they haven’t received my SAT scores

Fairfielder, actually Georgetown emails you for you to set up the interview with the alumni.

Only one month left!!! :)

^ exactly what i was thinking !! i just want to know if i’m deferred so i can work on all my other apps haha…

^^^ Same… If i happen to get accepted, no more apps and I’m going to Gtown :)

ya i know, I’m starting to get pretty nervous of all the extra work I might have to do.

So many fellow EA-ers! Anyone else applying to the FLL?

Has anyone who applied early action and postmarked the app on November 1st NOT been contacted about an interview? Is there a date by which time we should get nervous that the application didn’t make it in the mail? The admissions office won’t acknowledge receipt of the app because they are too busy. Any suggested steps other than just trying to chill out?

Thanks.

You are contacted about your alumni interview based off the Part 1 of the application you sent in, not your actual application.

Keep checking your junk mail email folder to make sure it any interview notification was not mis-placed. Also, the person who interviewed my son had an email screening program. He could read emails from me (using the email address on the application), but emails from my son to him bounced back.

Thanks. We just emailed Georgetown to ask when the interview would be scheduled. My daughter will be out of the country for 9 days and I’m quite nervous there won’t be enough time for the interview before they make their decision. We’re not near a metropolitan area and so it will involve some driving for both parties.

Does the Georgetown admissions office tend to answer their emails quickly?
