Georgetown Extended Deadline?

Hi there!

I'll try to keep this short because I'm on my phone. Back in October I submitted part I of my Gtown app and did my interview but I never finished my Georgetown app because I started another college's last minute. Kind of assumed they'd just not look at my application but they emailed me today saying that as long as I submitted the whole thing by the 10th of February, they'd consider it.

So should I still "apply"? I know it looks pretty bad and I should've told them I changed my mind. But if there's another chance, then I don't know...Are they getting me to apply just to be able to formally reject me for being late or are they really going to peruse what I've submitted?

Also...since I literally just got this email, does this mean committee hasn't convened yet? That leaves less than 2 months for schools to make their decisions :/

Thanks for reading!

I think the admissions officers will still give you a fair reading. In fact, I’m not sure that they will even look at the timestamp on your application. If you’ve already paid for part one, what’s the harm in completing part two?

If you are still interested I would complete the app and submit. You showed initial interest and there may have been something there that caught their eye, or it may just be they are following up on incomplete apps. Good luck.

Thank you both for your input! I’ve sent in my application and now I guess I’ll have to wait and see
