Haha that’s a bit rude. In my defense, I worked really hard to get good grades and didn’t study at all before I took my ACT (but that’s on me). There were about 700 students in my class.
@Stewartson attacking people’s ACT scores? Really? This isn’t high school anymore get over yourself.
Also, are you guys sending in Midterm reports? If so, are you just using the common app form? Georgetown doesn’t have one.
@TerrierNation Nice to see you here as well. I’m currently deciding how to go about getting my midterm report to GU as well. How did you go about the dean’s report?
@msport @TerrierNation Does Georgetown require midterm reports?
Also, my interview is in two days - got my interviewer information like two weeks ago (after the deadline)
@avocadough don’t think so. but I would like to send mine in - as far as I know all they require is your college transcript/“dean’s report”/letter of rec/high school transcript
@msport Good luck on your interview!! In case you want to know what to expect: my interview was really laid back, and more conversational (instead of the typical “question-answer” interviews I had as a senior in high school). I was interviewed by an alumni that graduated in 2015 too, so it was refreshingly informal They didn’t seem to have any specific questions prepared. I’m sure you’ll do great!!
Good luck! Your stats sound great
anyone have their interview yet and care to share?
@yayauzi8 I had my interview and talked about it in the above post, if you want to reference that for more information!
Basically, it seems like they don’t have any set questions they ask applicants and that it’s more conversational. I made sure to ask some specific questions at the end that seemed to impress my interviewer, and I think it helps to talk about what you know about Jesuit education and why you want that influence in your college experience. Although it was kind of a while ago, I remember her asking what in particular I want to participate in on campus, and what teacher/class/subject I would want to learn more about there. Hope this helps
@yayauzi8 mine was an hour and relatively informal and easy-going! she definitely asked me more about my current school and classes than she did about my desire to attend georgetown.
@mybaifos what major in MSB??
for interviews, do you need to bring a resume?
@yayauzi8 I brought one just in case and my interviewer took it, but didn’t really read it. I don’t think it’s required but you might as well if you’re able to print one
@yayauzi8 I just remembered two more questions my interviewer asked… (1) Why did you choose your current school? (2) There’s no right or wrong answer, but what do you think is the value in a college education/why even pursue one? (that one kind of threw me off) I’m not sure if they’ll ask you that, but it might be helpful to prepare an answer for them just in case!
My interview is tonight, will let you guys know how mine was as well!
Did you guys receive an email about tranferring for Spring 2019?
yeah I did
Yes, I did too. I’m wondering if this was sent to all transfer applicants? @mybaifos
Got it too, don’t worry guys.
