Georgetown Fall 2018 Transfer

@alarak Is there any reason why you have a preference for spring over fall?

when do you think we will hear?

@collegeapp14 Friday seems most likely, though they gave Sunday as a deadline, so I suppose that’s a possibility as well.

Has anyone been offered Spring 2019 Admission yet? It’s strange to me that they’d wait so long. Surely they have an idea of how many/ who they’ll accept.

I received the preference email for fall/spring as well. Did you guys @collegeapp14 and @ClarifyingDetail receive it as well?

@Prepgrad2017 I did too. I’d assume everyone who was wait-listed and indicated an interest in being considered for both terms received it.

I received the preference email as well. I think the prospects for Fall 2018 are extremely slim to none. All we can hope for at this point is Spring 2019 admission.

oh okay, I figured. I hope we find out sooner than later this week.

Just FYI, Fall Housing deadline for transfers is this Friday, July 13th. The pre-registration deadline for Fall 2018 courses is July 20th. If you haven’t heard back yet, I would say chances are probably slim for Fall 2018.

No one is asking for pessimism here bud. You don’t know how it works and clearly they have the capability to extend deadline with exceptions. What do you think they do to extended waitlist kids at Georgetown over the past few years? Just wait this out and see how it goes.

So I’m assuming everyone still in this chat is a rising sophomore since only rising sophomores are being accepted for the Spring?

Keep in mind that they emailed JUST last week asking for preferences. They would not be doing that if there were absolutely no preferences/ if it were only spring for instance. It’s very different this year, especially with Spring consideration. Also, many in the past have been wait-listed and eventually accepted. If that’s the case again, there’s no doubt that Georgetown will accommodate people and grant them deadline exceptions.

and it says that “Admissions Committee will be meeting over the next two weeks” on the email sent the week of July 4th. This week is the first week they’re meeting so it seems like they may not let us know before July 15 if that’s the case

Never got the email. My iCloud account was having some trouble and all the emails were bouncing back for weeks. I called the office to ask if they had sent an email but they told me no. So I guess I am out of the running.

@jerrythemoose Maybe check your junk mail? Did you select both fall and spring on the waitlist response form? I’m sure they sent the email out to everyone who selected both fall and spring. I got the email as well, but just considering how other wait-lists work, it is disheartening that we haven’t heard from them and July 15th is nearing. They can only keep us on edge like this for so long…

I selected both, I am not sure what happened. I didn’t notice my email wasn’t working until a week had passed and it took me a bit longer to solve the issue. It would be really nice if any of you could PM the link, please.

Can we get a callout here on where everyone is? Respond to the following:

REJECT: Didn’t get in
WAITLIST: please specify fall or spring preference
ACCEPTED: specify fall or spring
ACCEPTED OFF WAITLIST: Specify fall or spring

Thanks guys. Maybe this will give us a better idea of where everyone is at…

Waitlist, Fall Pref, starting to think they might be mailing us decisions

Hi guys I am new on this discussion forum. I have a strong feeling that they will respond this week. I strongly suggest we all keep our fingers crossed and pray very hard for the best. Sometimes Admissions decisions boils down to luck , your story and academic performance. See you all on the hilltop

@jerrythemoose There was no link. They just told us to email them back.
