Georgetown Fall 2022 transfers

Last year it looks like the first acceptances came out May 7th.

Has anyone asked for an early read?

What do you mean by early read?

if you present like “proof” you need a decision faster because of another schools deposit deadline, they’ll let you know early if they’re leaning towards acceptance, waitlist or denial

i asked if they could possibly provide an estimate for the decisions being released, since I have financial need concerns I need to start planning out, and they said the following:
“Thank you for your email. Our release date for transfer decisions is officially June 1st, but they may be released slightly earlier if our decisions our finalized ahead of schedule.”

Apparently they released decisions on May 26th last year so this info lines up.

has anyone gotten any updates on the decision notifications?

by the 15th is confirmed.

did you hear this from the school?

I thought it was until June 1??

this is such an interesting admissions cycle, lol. forums from the last 2 years have some people already receiving decisions by this date, and we still haven’t heard anything. maybe it’s very competitive this year

what school within Georgetown did everyone apply to?

Georgetown College wbu

same here, for political economy

I applied last year and got deferred, waitlisted, then put on extended waitlist for the spring but ended up getting rejected. Their acceptance rate last year was 2%, that one hurt

That is brutal . Were you waitlisted and then on extended WL as a transfer? I was waitlisted and then on extended until late summer, and it was torture.

Ya it was brutal and ya this was as a transfer. When I talked to the office of admissions earlier this year they said that the acceptance rate should go up and last year was just an outlier so my fingers are crossed

I really hope so. Did you end up staying at your current college for one more year, and applying again this year as a junior? I’m applying as a rising sophomore and really hope to get in and put all this behind me.

i applied for political economy too haha
