Hey, I'm interested in Georgetown Foreign Service.
I like econ and IR so I'm wondering what people think about this major??
Also, how hard is Georgetown to get into??

You need to read the rest of these threads and see how people are freaking out about whether they can get into GU or not. Between the rise in applicants, the rise in the quality of the applicants and the economy, GU is quite selective. Good luck if you try!

Georgetown is, without exaggeration, one of the best places to study IR in the world. I've also heard fantastic things about its International Economics program. As for selectivity, Georgetown is very difficult to get into. It has about an 18% acceptance rate and its SAT mid-range hovers around 1340-1470 M+Cr, it also considers dozens of other aspects of your application, but those numbers are some good indicators on the college's selectivity.

Actually, the mid range is nowhere near that high, according to the georgetown website... the 25th percentile, which is all you really need to hit... is a 1370

Georgetown is, like simpson said, one of the best places on earth

It was voted (i forget where) america's most underrated college

The SFS has esteemed faculty such as Madeline Albright and a former President of Poland... at last year's commencement, the Sheika of Qatar spoke.
