Don't sweat not having an interview; they're not madatory for transfers and thus will depend on local alumni availability to conduct interviews.

Furthermore, interview assignments are not related to your application data (ie, GPA, SATs, etc). Interviewer-interviewee lists are sent to local alumni chairperson as soon as your Personal Data form is received and inputed by the Admissions Office. The local chairperson then assigns interviewers to candidates. Therefore, if you really want an interview, you need to get a hold of the local chairperson.

FYI, GUs realizes interviews can not be conducted for all candidates and has factored this into the admissions process. Applicants who are not automatic "shoo-ins" are individually reviewed (scored) by a four-member board from the school the applicant is applying to.

Hope this alleviates worries about interviews.

Well I just called my admissions rep and got his voicemail. I am not sure why they just couldnt give me his number from the start of this whole process. My friend who applied from the same school as me last year also never got an interview but he had great stats. Im thinking that this is more of an issue with the local alumni chair more than anything else.

Yeah, I've got to call my guy again. If he doesn't pick up this time, I'm calling the local guy. I lost my voice over the weekend, and considering I am going to the Red Sox game tonight, I don't anticipate having it much longer.

So my local rep called me back earlier tonight, apparently he had not gotten around to assign interviewers to any DC area applicants yet. He said I will get my assignment within the next few days.

Hey everyone. Surprising as it seems, I JUST got a letter from the Georgetown Interview chair this morning, and actually have set my interview up for tomorrow morning. He said he was very surprised it came so late, but nonetheless, I have mine tomorrow. So we'll see what happens.

You're correct, GU doesn't have an online system for applicants to check application status.

Alpha,

The policy is to review transfer applications after all freshman applications have been reviewed. As such, transfers should be under review as we speak since decisions will be out in the next few months.

In regards to midterm grades (Spring midterm grades), they don't request them. You can submit them and ask they be included in your application, but I don't recommend it unless its on an official document, ie. transcripts.

yeah i didn't get an interview assignment either.. however one of my recs was from a professor who was an alumni interviewer and former g-town professor. maybe they counted that as my interview?
who knows. i'll just continue to be a nervous wreck until june.

i didnt get an interview either! haha i stalked your other posts and im glad you have high stats...makes me feel less bad about not getting an interview. but its pretty safe to say most of us will be stressing interview or no interview so i guess it doesnt make much of a diff...

yea i called the office of admissions today and they said that if you have not gotten an assigned interview yet you would not be getting one. He said it will not have an affect on my chances. Kinda bummed though, i didnt really write why i wanted to go to gtown in the essays, and i was hoping that the interview would be a time to make up for it
