What's the biggest piece of advice you could give a 2016 hopeful?

Georgetown SFS is my dream school - I know it is unhealthy to have one but I cannot help it.

What's the biggest piece of advice you could give a 2016 hopeful?

GPA. SAT scores. Volunteering. Rigorous HS course load. External interests. Good interview. Same as for many other fine schools. There is no simple formula. I would however consider the fact that the school is a Jesuit institution after all. Not religious consideration, but from being a good human being perspective…

Good luck!

they really stressed the Jesuit aspect when I toured - thanks for your advice!

killer essays. imo, they’re often the only thing that sets you apart from the thousands of other identical kids that apply. write about why you love gtown; be specific, be passionate, and make your love for the school come across as if you were screaming HOYA SAXA in their faces.

good luck!!

Obviously you should keep solid academic credentials throughout high school. Good tests scores are also a given. However, the one thing that I will stress to you the most is passion. Get passionate about something. It doesn’t matter what that thing is but as long as you put as much as you can into that and communicate that effectively in your essays and application, you have as good a shot as anyone. Good luck in the future!
