Georgetown, JHU, Duke WILL CHANCE BACK

As cliche as it is, you should do an EC you really like! Don’t do something you don’t care about just to pad your resume. Find something that interests you, anything, and do that. I had few to no EC’s until sophomore year, when I discovered a specific interest I really cared about (in my case, music) and started to do more things related to that, continuing now in junior year. you should do something like that if at all possible.

specific suggestions of ECs? Keep up the track and field, if you can–i know it’s a spring sport, but join cross country in the fall maybe (if your school has that.) You could also volunteer tutor, get a summer job, apply for an internship, etc. if you have an idea that you’re passionate about, you could start an organization related to it or do something unorthodox like that to make yourself stand out, but don’t make something up just for the sake of having another EC. that’s unnecessary and will seem obvious.

For those schools definitely do SAT II’s. I know Georgetown, specifically, wants you to take 3, which is a lot. The dates you have left are June and October, and you can do more than one on the same date, so you have plenty of time. That said, you can’t do the SAT on the same day as an SAT II, so plan carefully; unless you do all 3 SAT II’s on one day with no chances to redo them, you won’t be able to retake the SAT before you apply to college. For the record, though, your SAT score is high, so you don’t necessarily need to retake it anyway.

Also, take more APs your senior year, like calvin said. Don’t be worried that you won’t have enough! If you take 4 senior year, as you said you planned to, you’ll have 8 throughout high school, which is great. Plenty of students get into these colleges with fewer than that.
