Georgetown MSB or Cornell AEM???

I was recently accepted as a junior transfer to Cornell's Applied Economics and Management major, and to the undergraduate business school at Georgetown.

My goal is to either enter the world of investment banking or to attend a top 10 law school and specialize in corporate law.

In terms of academics, social life, financial aid, internship opportunities, prestige, and job placement, how would you rank the 2?

it’s pretty close but cornell, i think it has more connections when graduation time comes and you’re looking for a job

GTown hands down. Both recruited identically but GTown gives better location and you’re not in the school of agricultural science (or whatever that BS is)

Georgetown has an awesome alumni network so i’m not sure if what the 2nd poster said is true. Also DC>Ithaca and MSB just got an incredible new building. i’m attending gtown in the fall =D

It would honestly not surprise me if MSB broke the top ten in undergraduate business schools in the next couple years. They are pouring a lot of money into the program right now and the new building is quite an addition.

the rep at the GTown preview said they scored so low because of facilities. Well they just upgraded. I’d say top 10 without a doubt. (support above posts)

The point is that G’town is a much happier place than Cornell. I had to make a decision similar to the JoeThePlumber, and I’m THRILLED I went to G’town over Cornell. Cornell is filled with a bunch of competitive jerks who’ll do anything to be at the top of the class. It’s also in the middle of nowhere and has terrible winters. Students at G’town are far from competitive, and I have yet to meet one alumni who had a bad time in DC. Trust me…the happier you are, the better you’ll do, and the better you do, the better offers you’ll get. Go to G’town. You’re cheating yourself if you don’t.

Recruiting wise they are essentially on par, particularly if you are looking to end up on the street. Definitely base your decision on feel, because academically they are around the same level. Any difference is likely to be marginal comparatively.
