How would you guys compare MSB and Maryland's Robert H. Smith school of business. Which one is a better business school objectively without considering GT's name.

MSB by far. Smith is a joke, trust me.

msb might be a better school, but i’m pretty sure smith isn’t “a joke.” thats exactly the kind of answer i didn’t want. I was looking for an objective comparison of both schools. but writing on the georgetown page was not a very good idea since people prob. don’t know too much about Smith and are biased toward gt.

look, the students who you’ll find at Smith will disgust you. My high school practically feeds into UMD and some kids aren’t just not college rigorous. I could swear a couple of those kids are brain dead (and I don’t mean to insult, this is honestly the impression they give). All of the garbage in my school is flowing into Smith. Do yourself a favor and go to MSB. If not for “quality education” then for the people. Incomparable.

Furthermore, Smith graduates rarely get any good jobs. 40k jobs with little growth potential working at H&R Block. GTown will put you into Credit Suisse, Goldman and other respectable positions.

edit: The comparison you’re making is something like NYU and community college. I’m sure some people would argue community college isn’t a joke but those who get into schools like NYU and GTown should know better.

well a lot of very bright kids from my school who also got into schools like stern and MSB and interned at places like goldman, merryl, boa, went to Maryland. so i do not agree that the quality of students is very poor. of course, there might be poor students, but i would say the majority of smith students have a certain level of potential. and the comparison between nyu and a community college is definitely not the same thing as comparing MSb and smith. the gap between msb and smith is waaayy smaller than the former. and i actually would call cc a joke, quite honestly. i know rankings are not flawless, but im pretty sure a 17th ranked school is not a joke in the sense that you use that word.

If you believe that this school is for you, please attend UMD. I have nothing more to add.

hey, i’m just sayin. i agree that georgetown is a better school, that’s not very hard to acknowledge. i’m just reacting to your serious underestimation of smith and especially your analogy. but w/e…
