Georgetown Official Waitlistees

Hey guys!

Just to get some kind of idea of how many of us CCers were waitlisted, I created this thread. I was waitlisted at the McDonough School of Business...I really hope it works out because it's my first choice!

For any of you who are waitlisted, do you plan on accepting the offer?

Also, maybe this isn't even "official", I just wrote that there so it would attract more people hahaa, but hopefully people will post! :)

Hey, I was waitlisted as well to McDonough. Obviously, I’d rather be in, but it’s nice to know I’m at least in consideration after having been deferred during the early action round. I have a couple other decisions coming up, but Georgetown is definitely in the top three of potential colleges, possibly first, so I’ll probably stay on.

Hopefully this year’s percentage is more like 2003 (22%) or 2009 (13%) rather than 2005-2008 where McDonough either admitted none or 1% off of their waitlist.

Also, anyone have any idea how big the waitlist is?

I was waitlisted at Nursing and Health Studies. After being deferred EA this is so frustrating. Georgetown has been tied for number one for a while now. Luckily my school has the biggest percentage of admittees from the waitlist so let’s hope for good news in may!

Hey guys…I was waitlisted for the College. I will definitely be accepting the offer. The data sheet wasn’t all too promising, however.

I got waitlisted to the College. Boo!

McDonough waitlist - going to enroll elsewhere & get off list, so all of you have ever-so-slightly better odds now. Good luck to everybody!

SFS…keep your hopes up high, just think that you’re being considered for one of the top schools in the nation! that in itself is a huge accomplishment. :]

georgey306, can I have your stats? I applied to the nursing as well, but I have not received the letter yet.

SFS Waitlistee. Also, this is my first CC post!

I have a question: does it cost money to remain on the waitlist? At some schools you have to pay the enrollment deposit to stay on the waitlist, so is Georgetown the same?

Here ya go!

And after I was deferred I sent in a letter. I guess I’m happy for no rejection!

I don’t believe you have to pay the enrollment deposit. They will let you know around May 15th whether you’ve been admitted or not…which is actually a really fast turnaround time compared to other colleges.

Good luck to you all! I am sending in new information and visiting the campus again on Wednesday! Georgetown is my first choice, so I really hope I can get in!

hey guys, i was waitlisted at mcdonough  kinda sucks that we got waitlisted but yeah, it is gtown so i’m happy i’m still being somewhat considered lol

syf330- Nah, I’m from another New England state, CT, not MA.

georgey306- I was also deferred then waitlisted. When I got deferred back in December, I was initially really annoyed and disliked Georgetown for awhile. Then as the months went by I realized I still may have a chance, and now I’m actually feeling relatively decent about the waitlist. As you said though, a final decision has been a long time coming and now it’ll be even longer.

^ I went through the same phase. I was kind of ****ed at Georgetown haha. I mean, I’ve come to terms with my state school and I’m completely fine with going there now, so I guess being deferred actually helped me out with that.

Waitlisted in CT. I’m looking at it positively- at least it wasn’t a rejection, guys! We still have a chance!

In the mail today was a waitlist from Georgetown with another letter from the alumni association asking for my yearly donation! My husband got a kick out of it. Should I send them the check with a copy of the letter that they waitlisted my daughter! Anyway, she’s fine with it. Georgetown owes me nothing. They were good to me at the time and good luck to all of you that get in and chose to go there. She is waiting to hear from the rest of her schools. She is in waitlist pergatory now (5 waitlists) to her top choices.

I was wait listed from GTown College (prospective Linguistics major). I’m actually excited about that because I didn’t really believe i had a change at all…needless to say I will be accepting the offer and if by some miracle I end up getting in I will drop everything and head to Georgetown!

Waitlisted at SFS. I’m hoping the numbers aren’t huge when it comes to kids who were waitlisted. Anyone know the numbers applied/accepted?

Did you hear from Georgetown by letter or E-mail? When did you hear? Thanks
