I was rejected at UPenn Wharton business school and accepted to the georgetown business school and the college at uva (you apply to the business school at uva after sophomore year). I want to be a business major and don't know which school to go to and am looking for any advice. I am in-state at uva, but my older sister goes there so I'm not sure I want to go to college with her.

This might be too late for you but maybe it'll help. McIntire is a stonger school. However if you'll go to UVA you'll have to apply to McIntire and it is actually harder to get in from within. Considering you are instate it might be better to go to UVA, you can always do Econ and then MBA. Hope it helps

If you work hard then getting into McIntire shouldn't be too difficult. It's ranked 5th among undergraduate business programs and the classes are small with a lot of group work. The university even has corporate sponsors who provide a lot of information and support for student's (including Rolls-Royce and May Department stores which own Hecht's and Macy's). Considering you have instate tuition, it would be insane to go elswhere!!! And I'm sure you can avoid your sister if you wish as the University is huge.

Somehow I have the impression that GU has a better name in the job market despite UVAs higher ranking as business program. This is especially true as regards Wall St.

DISAGREE

McINTIRE IS EXTREMELY WELL-REGARDED ON WALL STREET

my friend who works on THE wall street and who is making 140,000 bucks a year now told he has TONS of workmates from UVA, not so many in GT.
