Georgetown question...what does this mean?

Hey guys,

Due to circumstances beyond my control, I mailed my G-town app after March 1 - but the envelope was postmarked March 1 (my mom's office has a postmarking machine and we happened to get it all marked there). I wasn't trying to be dishonest; this is just the way it happened. I know it probably arrived late. I also forgot to submit the course descriptions photocopies until much later. (I swear, this is the only school for which I just don't have my act together. The others I've been meticulous about.)

I called them and asked to confirm that everything was in, and they said "We have a personal data form for you, so we have a file for you, and we'll let you know if anything's missing."

Do you think this is ominous? I haven't gotten confirmation about anything except through that phone call, and I haven't gotten a request for an interview. My chances were shaky to begin with, and I'm worried that the lateness thing may hurt them even more. (Who gets into CAS with a 3.4, regardless of courseload? Psh.)

Thoughts? Sorry that this is so long.

I think Georgetown actually extended their deadline awhile back. If they're not making a big deal about it, just see where things go. No interview request may be a bad sign, but we'll have to see what other Gtown applicants say. Applying late is never good, even if they extend the deadline, but all you can do is hope for the best.

Thanks!

Where did you hear about an extended deadline? I thought it was always March 1.

A lot of schools have been extending their deadlines...not sure why. It'd be nice if there were fewer transfer applicants this year. ;)

I recall Georgetown among those named.

I called Georgetown about my stuff and I had sent it out in time. They said they had only gotten the personal data form and my information had been sent to the interview committeee. They also said that interviews were not guaranteed for transfers, so if you don't get a confirmation, it might just mean that there was nobody available to interview you.

I haven't gotten info about an interview, though I'm sure it's because there aren't any/many alumni in Newark, Delaware where I currently go to school.
