Georgetown Question

I am a junior in high school now and I am starting to look at some colleges. I am seriously considering Georgetown- i've heard great things about the school adn the fact that i love government and politics makes the school very appealing to me. But, I am jewish, and i know that Georgetown has a strong jesuit identity. Does anyone know anything about the Jewish life at Georgetown? Is there a Hillel? Would a Jewish person feel completely out of place there? Thanks...

Georgetown may be Jesuit, but there are many Jews and Muslim students and they all feel "in place".

Georgetown from what I know is not an extremely religious school, on the contrary, being in DC it is rather liberal. This link might be helpful:

The G'Town Jewish organization.

thanks a LOT all of those links were really helpful

hey...i have ANOTHER question regarding Georgetown. For some reason nobody from my school has been accpeted to Georgetown for the past 10 years. Even this past year a person who seemed qualified got rejected early decision. There was a rumor going around (even before the person got rejected) that there was a student from my school who got accepted early decision about 10 years ago, but did not go to the school, and that now my school is "blacklisted" at Georgetown. Is this possible? Should I not apply there because of this? HELP!! I really like Georgetown and it would really suck if that was the case.

Nobody gets rejected early decision from Georgetown. Either you're in or you're deferred. Who knows if he even applied. I really doubt those rumors of past transgressions are true. It's just really tough to get into Georgetown.

the thing is though that over the years some kids with REALLY good stats and EC's adn everything have applied, adn there are literally NONE who have gotten in. i go to a high school that usually sends about 20 (usually a little more) to ivys and other schoools of the same cailber each year. for some reason, georgetown in particular has not accpeted ANYBODY from my high school in about 10 years, and it really worries me.

the ACTUAL numbers taht I could find (i just checked my shcool website) are that since 2000, there have been 22 applicatoins to Georgetown from my school, and none of htem have been accepted.
