So I have been told that Georgetown has quotas for certain schools. Apparently a guidance counselor at a local school told one of the students not to apply to Georgetown becasue it wasn;t hr first choice and they only accept 2 studnts per school. Anyone hear anything similar?

Heard similar stories, at my high school, Gtown never took more thank 5 kids per year, though some years definitely took less...

at Jesuit high schools they take more than five, I know that for a fact.

At my d's all girl hs, GU took 0 from the class of 2007 - some very bright girls were rejected. Even though d is bright, we thought her chances were slim. She actually wasn't going to bother to apply, because she didn't think she would get in based on the 2007 results, but I talked her into applying. From the class of 2008, GU took 6 including my d. I believe this may be the most GU took from this school - all the girls accepted are going and I believe would be the top ranked girls in the school - all very bright girls.

Ha! Depends more on size than Jesuit status. I went to a Jesuit school with 50 kids per grade, they only took 5 max each year.

Do you think it would be smart for S to convert to a Jesuit order? He is already a rising senior - do you think the admission people might suspect he only did it to get into Georgetown?
