Georgetown RD 2023

What are my chances? I applied ED to another school, but I just realized I also really like Georgetown’s School of Foreign Service!

PROFILE:

GPA: 3.75 Unweighted

Race + Gender: African-American Female

Residence: Philadelphia

School: competitive private school

Will have completed 8 Advanced courses and 5 AP’s by the time I graduate
(Adv. Geometry, Adv. Algebra II, Double Adv. Pre-Calculus, AB Calculus, Adv. Biology, Adv. Chemistry, Adv. Physics, AP Literature, Adv. English, Adv. Spanish 4, AP Spanish, AP US History, AP World History)

SAT Superscore (1450): Reading/Writing - 710, Math - 740, Essay: 21/24

SAT Subject Tests [might retake]: Math II (710), English (660), US History (590)

School: Walsh School of Foreign Service (probably the Political Economy Major)

EC’s: Varsity rowing (4 years, captain in senior), Model UN captain (3 years), 300+ hours of community service, community service council (3 years), school advisory board (3 years), yearbook staff, leader of an investment team competing in an international competition

Summer activities: work part-time at a restaurant, Westpoint Summer Leadership Program, internship at a global sustainability program, summer rowing

Recognitions: 10th-grade Academic+Leadership Award, Honors throughout all of high-school, Global Studies Certificate

Pretty good. You have a chance there

Stats: SAT is fine, SAT Subject Test scores should be improved (especially the english and us history ones since you are trying to go into foreign service)
ECs: Pretty average, I wish that you had some type of internship with a senator or helped a campaign
Summer Activites: Why the global sustainability program? Aren’t you going for foreign policy? The rest are fine

Overall: I would say it will be low to medium chance of getting in. I just don’t see enough commitment to foreign policy.

Very high. URM

How much does the interview matter/count?

If I am remembering correctly, Georgetown doesn’t Superscore. What were your SAT scores?
