Hi,
So I’ve decided to apply to Georgetown at the last minute as I realize that I have nothing to lose by doing so, but now I’m met with an impending deadline to submit all my application materials by, including the teacher recommendations.
I’ll be applying to Georgetown College and it states that it requires/recommends a submission from a foreign language teacher, science teacher, and teacher of a subject of our choosing.
For my early action applications, my AP Language teacher, AP CompSci, and APUSH teacher submitted my recommendation letters. So my question is, would these teacher recommendations suffice for Georgetown College? I would ask for a recommendation from my French teacher, though due to the application deadline I wouldn’t find that possible or considerate.
Thanks and good luck to all other applicants!
Slightly related question, is there a grace period for teachers to submit evaluations? I’m in the same boat, trying to find a teacher but struggling because the deadline is tomorrow.
“I’ll be applying to Georgetown College and it states that it requires/recommends a submission from a foreign language teacher, science teacher, and teacher of a subject of our choosing.”
@jiambert this is not quite correct. The directions are that your recommender should depend on your program of study in the college, as follows:
Languages and Linguistics: a foreign language teacher
Science or Pre-Medical: a science or mathematics teacher
All other programs: a teacher of your choice in a core academic subject"
An application to GC only needs one rec. letter. You may submit another optional letter as long as it’s marked properly (teacher 2: Optional or something like that. It’s on the directions).
Hopefullly you got this figured out by now!
@Nomak54 I checked through the directions and on my son’s portal and can’t find anything to suggest a grace period for any part of the application. Others may have more information on this based on their GC’s experience or conversation with GU.
