Not going to lie Georgetown was my backup since I applied to mainly Ivy Leagues and being waitlisted by them was a slap in the face and very demoralizing. This was the bottom of the list of schools I wanted to go to, and I don’t know how they were picking their students for admissions this year because I saw people on the EA thread being admitted with 1350 SATs. If you did not receive the decision you had hoped for, just know we are all in this together. I wish you all the best of luck!
@ardnas1999 My daughter was rejected from her backup school, but was accepted to a more prestigious college. I think they are putting names in a jar and blindly picking. Good luck!
I’ve heard similar stories from many, but I’m still worried for this Wednesday when Ivies come out. College admission is a grueling process. I’m so glad it worked out for your daughter. I’m hoping for the best while also bracing for the worst. Thank you for the encouraging reply.
I really wouldn’t call Georgetown a “backup” for anyone, but I was kind of hoping I would have it as an option after receiving very good news from Hopkins. From this thread alone, I’m inclined to believe that the waitlists are very similar in quality to the accepted pool. Hope Ivy day goes better for both of us @ardnas1999
Any chance .47cents could be WL? It’s a window envelope. We are out of town.
Is it a window envelope?
@okineedhelp is it a window envelope?
My waitlist was not windowed @trendypalai
@Viner we live in new haven county and got the letter today
@writergirl0316 ok thanks! So looks like it’s a rejection from SFS. ACT 34 and Gpa 4.2
DD got in - from DC area. .68 envelope contains 3 pieces of paper + return envelope. Tough process, hang in there. Good luck to all
@emmajac is it s regular envelope?
So I got rejected today from Georgetown. I was upset at first, as this was my dream school, but then I realized that rejections are just life’s way of saying that I do not belong at this college, and that I will thrive elsewhere. If I’ve learned anything during my time here, it’s that life always has a funny way of always leading us in the right direction. For everyone else rejected, hopefully this little piece of wisdom can help you.
Congratulations to all who have been accepted, this is an extraordinary accomplishment. Good luck to all.
