@muffinmcclay, 0.47 is not what you or your D are looking for :-(.
Does informed delivery update throughout the day?
Any idea why it would be 3 letters?
@muffinmcclay It is likely a scanning error–they scanned the same letter 3 times. It happened to me on a letter I received on Friday.
same thing happened to me. 2 letters both .47 but clearly different. not sure whats happening
Did you apply to SFS?
@pjk806 the FA letter is .47, but of course you’d only get if admitted. Maybe there are 3 letters for some reason? That’s weird that you got 2 but both .47. Let me know how that turns out!
@winky1 did you check informed delivery yet in PA? I’m at work and can’t decide whether I want to check and find out in advance of my daughter getting the letter or not.
Well I couldn’t wait so I checked, .47 for my D in PA. Georgetown was one of her top choices so she will be so disappointed. But the EA deferral letter was clear that the chances were slim for regular decision acceptance so it won’t be a total surprise.
@adlgel don’t do it. We got informed delivery for EA but it never worked. We never got the email. Days later my mom got the email and opened it to see the letter with the wrong postage. She was sick about it and felt like she was lying if she didn’t tell me she saw it. I was checking the mail all week and I was home on Saturday when we signed up for informed delivery, so I wanted to be the one to get the letter first. It was bad. Let your daughter find out herself. Don’t get caught up on this board. (Obviously, if she wants you to check, then do it.) We don’t have informed delivery any longer and I won’t be home until 9:00 tonight, so this is going to be a long day for my mom. Good luck!
.47 from West Chester Pa :-S
@apdns19 As you can read above I already did it. But I am at work and will not tell my daughter in advance. She’ll find out when she gets the letter.
@adlgel , just saw your posts. I am sorry about your D. I wish her well. We do not have informed delivery because they could not confirm my girl’s identity. We have to wait for the actual mail. Should be within a couple of hours. If it’s 67 cents, I am going to bring it to her at school What’s hilarious is that she doesn’t get caught up in the details like I do. I am not even sure that she remembers her decision is probably coming today and that Ivy Day is Wednesday! Isn’t that the funniest? I am so glad she’s like that. She gets her decisions and processes them appropriately.
Assuming 47 cents means rejection because its lighter?
Is it possible that the letter will still come even though it doesn’t appear on Informed Delivery
@sa2000 Yes, but most likely no
@Winky1 Good luck to your D! I saw your name on all my D’s applied school CC, means our girls favorite same kinds of schools, it’s interesting My D is still sleeping but I already know her stamp is .47 I don’t know what reaction she will have, I know WashU and GT are her most want and she is already in WashU so I guess she will feel relieve since she doesn’t need to worry how to choose between this two great school.
Wish your girl all the best!
Thank you so much @wingjuer - that was such a thoughtful post. Best of luck to your D as well. And that Wash U acceptance is a big deal. As you probably remember, mine was denied after being deferred. Hoping for good news, but it will all be fine if not. You are right that it will be less stressful because now she won’t have to choose between the 2 schools. Best of luck.
Good Morning everyone and good luck to all. Unfortunately, we’re awaiting our .47 letter. Any chance this could be a WL letter? I think these rejections are hitting me harder than my daughter. She’s been accepted to WashU, UVA and Michigan so I’m grateful for these choices. But…there’s no denying that the slew of rejections that are coming in now are hitting me right in the gut. Such is life. Good Luck to all the new Hoyas!
@muffinmcclay yes SFS
