Right now I know that I want to study science/engineering. I have been looking at Georgetown for a while (even before i chose my area of study) and was wondering how strong Georgetown is seen in the sciences. I know it doesnt have engineering, but is it very strong in chem/bio/physics/cs? All the other schools I'm applying to are solid in the sciences, but I want to know how people see Georgetown's science departments.

I don't think Georgetown is particularly strong in sciences. They are known for social sciences and humanities and nursing and pre-law.

as for bio, georgetown has a pretty good program...

bump... what about emory for the sciences too?

I just met a transfer from emory who is a sophomore! She was a bio major at emory I think and hated it there so she came to georgetown

check my posts from the georgetown forum, back in april of this year. i visited the chem department and had an awesome experience. you will get lots of attention, and the prof ratio is really nice, like 4 or 3 to 1. half of this years chem majors (12 total) are doing grad work at stanford, and the rest doing stuff in peace corps, med school, etc. and bio department apparently has the most teachers winning awards for teaching. they're good, check it out.
