Georgetown SFS or Michigan Ross?

I got admitted to both these schools..for UMich I was also admitted to their college of engineering. Any suggestions as to where I should deposit in 24 hours?

Go to Michigan. Top 10 programs in business and engineering.

I'm also considering rice, but I've ruled that out considering the prestige of Mich's BBA program and Georgetown's SFS program...

I'd vote SFS. But I LOVE international stuff, and think being a dignitary would be sweet.

You are 17/18 and still cannot decide ANYTHING on your own?
No one can tell you which college is best for YOU. Whats next, you'll be asking which guy to go out with?

coolkiddo1,
Not sure how you deduced that U Michigan or Georgetown have more prestige than Rice. Do you know much about Rice?

Also, can you expound on what you want to do? Engineering? Diplomacy? Something else? Not sure? And what are you looking for in a college experience from size to cityscene to social scene to athletics?

Of course Rice is more prestious than Michigan. It's a private school right hawkette?

^ Wow Milkmagn that was a constructive post. Last time I checked, you were asking for advice for your decision between Georgetown and Tufts. As a Georgetown student, I'm happy that you decided on Tufts.

HAHHAHA Dude we might as well just shut down this website then hahaha!

Actually I think Michigan is the choice. The kick rear end in both fields you are interested in.

It was better decision?

Context Milmagn...I'm happy that people like you aren't on my campus.

OP: Both are great schools but it really depends upon what you desire to study. If you are passionate about IR or government, the SFS certainly holds this niche for undergrad studies. If you are interested in engineering, clearly you should attend Michigan.

Business: Although Ross may be higher ranked than the MSB, this discrepancy is increasingly marginal. With the new building planned for completion in early 2009, the MSB is surely to rise. It is currently one of the top 5 most represented undergrad business schools on Wall Street.

Hope this helps.

Yes G'town is a better decision than tufts

Michigan is getting a new building for Ross too. A $150,000,000.00 dollar one.

Definitely SFS.

Area: Check
Academics: Check
People: Check
Weather?: Check

I can't really think of anything else.

PS. Second tdolson about milkmagn. Holy moly, man. You were doing the SAME THING nonstop about 2 weeks ago! now that you've made your decision, you're giving other people crap for asking? I honestly hope you are joking. That's just ridiculous.
OP: sorry for the tangent. SFS f'sho.

Michigan Wolverines ftw.

Yeah, I was joking... I was just paraphrasing and copying what a guy had replied to my thread (about college choices) in another forum...

If you're interested/going into...

INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS: Georgetown SFS hands down
BUSINESS: still Georgetown imo but you should decide based on fit
ENGINEERING: Michigan Ross hands down

Academically, you cannot lose. Georgetown and Michigan are both amazing. They also happen to be great places to go to college. My sister and father both attended Georgetown and I attended Georgetown Prep. So I am quite familiar with both universities.

Georgetown is beautifully located in a safe and vibrant part of DC and the school has good spirit, fun students and a good and popular Basketball program.

Michigan is the heart of Ann Arbor, one of the nicest and hippest college towns anywhere. The University takes school spirit to another level, the campus is always lively and the vide is unmistakably intellectual.

For your chosen majors, Michigan and Georgetown are both strong. Michigan may not have a school of Foreign Service, but its Political Science department is ranked among the top 3 in the US. For Business, both schools are excellent. Although Ross offers more academically, the MSB places their students almost as well as Ross, so the end result is the same. Both schools are building brand new Business buildings, so their profiles should improve in the next 2-3 years.

What intrigues me is that you also applied to the college of Engineering at Michigan. Is Engineering something you wish to pursue? If that's the case, Michigan is a no-brainer since Georgetown doesn't have a school of Engineering. So if you are sure you want to major in Engineering, or if you are undecided, pick Michigan. If you decide not to pursue Engineering, I recommend you go for fit.
