Georgetown SFS vs Northwestern

I love both schools so it's so hard to decide!

I want to work for international organizations in the future so was leaning towards Gtown SFS... but some people have been telling me I might be better off at Northwestern where I can explore more things with greater flexibility since I'm not 110% sure about future plans.

Can any of you guys give me any more insights into this?
It'd be helpful to know Georgetown SFS's reputation as well.

Thanks!

Pretty sure Georgetown has a wide enough selection to explore your interests.

I have a daughter who is a junior in SFS at Georgetown. She picked Georgetown because of SFS – there’s nothing better if you want to work internationally for government or private business. DC is the best place to make international contacts. We love the Georgetown community and the University.

I grew up in Chicago, and I’m very familiar with Northwestern. It’s a great school. If you aren’t committed to your international pursuits, Northwestern would be my pick. Overall and outside of SFS, Northwestern is just a better school. But Georgetown is excellent.

I have another daughter who is taking off for college this fall. She was accepted by Northwestern and has been seriously considering it. But she’s also been accepted at Columbia, and that’s probably where she will go. She’s premed. We’re still waiting for the Georgetown envelope, but it would be hard to beat Columbia or Northwestern for premed.

We have the same dilemma. Good luck. We are leaning towards GT.

Our daughter picked Georgetown over Northwestern and she is very happy with her choice (college freshman) she works hard, but still has time for frat, writing for paper, dip ball, nats games, the list goes on and on. Her boyfriend attends Northwestern and it seems to be a rigorous curriculum and he says there are not too many opportunities for fun although he plays club sports and is in a frat (he is premed and majoring in economics.) He visits her when he can because they both agree Georgetown is more fun. They are 18 and 19 years old. Both are amazing schools. I would go with fun.
